I've been reading a lot of short stories online about certain paranormal activities involving ghosts. Some seem convincingly realistic, but others seem make believe to me.

The only remotely paranormal thing that ever happened to me was when I was out in the back yard one summer. I lived in a house on a hill with a great view of the valley below. I noticed all the turkey vultures were taking roost in all the trees in my back yard, as well as a few in the front yard and other trees close to the property. The next morning an arsonist started a fire down the hill and it took off burning 4,000 acres of land. Homes were evacuated, but nobody lost their homes. the land that was burned was my favorite place to go hiking as a young boy. Suburban sprawl slowly ate away at it. But the Fire destroyed all the last of it. I was sad to see it go.

Could the vultures have been an omen?

Got any paranormal experiences to share with us

Caught this on a cheap ass digital camera using a program called "timershot" on my PC. It's three views of the same photo of a figure standing in my (former) apartment's kitchen. The image was captured in the middle of the day, while I was away at work. I was doing surveillance on my apartment because I thought my landlord was coming in and snooping around while I was away at work (stuff was getting moved around). This isn't my landlord in the image, of that I"m sure. The camera was set to take a photo about every 30 seconds or so. This is the only image I caught. The doors and windows were locked. It's a second floor apartment and there's no way a burglar could have gotten in. The house was built around 1900. You have to unlock two doors to get into my apartment and me and my landlord are the only two people on earth with the keys. I was living alone at the time. The landlord once told me that the house had been gutted by fire a long time ago. I asked him if anyone had died in the fire. He just gave me a weird smirk and said "I guess they did". I've heard scratching at the walls, bumps, weird sounds - all of which I dismissed as the house settling, until I caught this image. There's more stuff to tell, but I need to get to bed. Ask me if you're interested. Cheers.

Also, I put that watermark on the image, but I've blurred my name because I'm not comfortable disclosing it.

Wow that's freaky jamgrassphan! That thing looks like a skeleton for a face but the rest of the body seems in tact. Ya think it could have been a house fire victim? What other kinds of eerie things have happened there?

I find these kinds of things fascinating!

Sometimes I wish I had experience with an actual haunting, but at the same time I don't because I know it will scare the shit out of me.

Well the first thing I notice when I moved into that apartment was that there these little coins with a crucifixed stamped out of them - like religious trinkets - two of them, one for each closet. They were hanging by a nail inside the door jams of each closet. That seemed a little odd. I've never removed them, and I don't intend to. Most of the time I feel completely at ease in the apartment, but sometimes, if I come home at an unusual hour - later or earlier than normal, I get the sense that I'm intruding. Like just an unwelcome feeling. On more than one occassion I've caught some movement out of the corner of my eye - usually in the kitchen, when I first get home. I've had some strange dreams - some of them - well, one of them in particular was disturbing. All I remember of it was that I saw a ghastly face - monstrous - hovering very close to my face - It was a threatening feeling, and I was under the impression that what ever this thing was, it was trying to climb inside my mouth - as crazy as that sounds. I became furious in the dream and lashed out at it, like a wild animal and I was on my feet, ready to fight when I came to my senses. I've showed the photo to several friends of mine. One in particular was deeply affected by it and she refuses to visit me in the apartment. I was dating a girl a year or so ago, and we got on the subject of ghosts and the paranormal. I showed her the photo and she brought some sage the next time she came over and "cleansed" the apartment. I was raised a Catholic, and basically the church's recommendation for that kind of situation is to ignore it - I guess with the idea that paying attention to it only encourages more activity - so that's been my overall strategy. I've never been that scared about it - just a little uncomfortable at times. I'll be moving soon, but if I had to - I wouldn't mind if I had to stay there. Other than the experience with the dream, I've never really felt threatened by anything there. I have wondered if this was the spirit of someone who perished in the fire. I also think that my landlord has experienced some stuff. Oh, and one more thing I just remembered. I was talking with my landlord's wife one morning, as I was heading out of the drive way. She was talking to me about showing my apartment to some prospective renters and I must have said something about assuring her that I would tidy up a bit. Anyway, my landlord owns the house next door as well and the rent the upper floor to some college girl and the lower floor to their grandson. She was bitching about how messy her grandson was - because the girl on the second floor called her up one night and told her that she was hearing voices in the lower apartment. The grandson is the national guard and he was gone at the time - so she went over to check the place out - saw his messy apartment - but found no one there. That kind of made me wonder if there was stuff going on over there too. Anyway, I'm still curious to get other peoples take on the photo so feel free to pass it around, if you like. Cheers.

I've never seen any ghosts, but I've run into a few skeletons in my closet.

Been around this stuff all my life. I worked with a medium for a couple years when I was still a teenager. More recently my wife and I lived in a heavily-haunted apartment in southern California. I could fill a page with the stuff we both saw and felt there. I also still have a couple of very creepy EVPs that I recorded in that apartment.
