    I cannot even walk barefoot at home. Has anyone got any ideas why this is the case? That did not always used to be like that.

    No idea either, but some spelling and grammar lessons wouldn't go amiss:)

    Some people are just ignorant. Do not pay attention to them. If they visited your country, they would need spelling and grammar lessons!:devil:

    Are you having pain when you walk barefoot? Is it in both feet? Did this happen suddenly or over a period of time? Have you asked a doctor about this? Or is this just something you are ashamed of because of family and/or friends? There are people who will try to help.

    a little more information would help;

    do you live at home with parents?
    are you normally shy?
    how about flip flops or sandals, if you are ok with them, try walking around the house with them on, without socks, until you get into a comfort level and then slowly shed them around the house. Once comfortable with that, then perhaps outside the house when taking out the trash or checking the mail.

    Take it in small steps. :) yep, pun intended

    It just feels wierd and cold walking barefoot and I am afraid of all the dust that my feet might come into contact with. I will consider starting off with flip flops though.

    Doesnt sound like yer on a winner with barefooting, you could try your back yard or something to get used to it, but maybe it's just not your thing :(

    dust won't hurt you by the least bit and you can wash your feet as much as you want but take my advice, only use water and occasionally pumice stone to file away dead skin and dirt: too much soap will hurt your skin and make it dry. bad smell will become just a memory if you stay barefoot all the time, and bad smell comes from a hell of a lot of bacteria, so if you think that having dusty feet is unsanitary, think twice. if the feel of your bare feet touching the ground makes you feelawkward is just because of a settled habit , but no other creature on earth wears any kind of footwear. in a relatively short time your gait will reset to normal (=barefoot:)) and you'll lose the sensation of being kind of naked. also it is more than possible that blood circulation in your feet will improve, particularly if you are accustomed to wearing socks and closed shoes, and this together with thicker sole skin and stronger muscle will make things way easier. i spend winter barefoot and my house can get very cold, like +11 celsius on a steady basis in rooms far from the fireplaces, now i can spend some time barefoot in snow and enjoy it a lot, or take hikes in the woods and cross water near to freezing point... and for sure im not the one with the highest tolerance to cold in this forum, ask Ganesha.
    it is all about will: you are in command.
