LSD is colorless, odorless, and tasteless.

I would say that because LSD tabs are so minutely dosed with active acid then if you taste something it is the blotting paper.Neither myself or anyone I know has consumed pure LSD in enough quantity for it to have the quality of "taste".But who knows?Maybe it does taste of something!

Many of my friends describe it as an "electric" taste. As soon as they put a blotter on their tongue they get a buzzing feeling, but I don't ever experience this.

.....if you also suck on the foil, and it gets sucked against the top of a molar, it makes a very unpleasant electric feeling....

But other than that, I've always thought people who describe an electric feeling may be associating the feeling of an LSD comeup with the taste of paper, after a few trips it could be such a strong association that they really do feel it buzzing on their tongue.

LSD does have a slight metallic taste that is more of a sensation than taste. Good ol' Al Hoffman even commented on it if memory serves.
It does resemble chewing foil when sampling potent liquid or crystal. I have had a few blotters over the years that gave the same miniscule "jolt" upon the tongue.

But as has been already stated, more often than not a bitter taste is from the bleach's, preservatives, binding agents, inks, coatings, in the paper itself.
From what I understand RC's generally have a bitterness that stands out from the crowd and there is no mistaking it.

I don't have an immediate taste, but I remember that "taste of a penny" sensation after you finish the blotter, but otherwise it just tastes like paper

No taste that I noticed, but I agree with the metallic/penny after taste.. AND I could almost feel that "taste" in my lower brain/ above roof of mouth..

What is rarely commented on... blotter paper has a specific look and makeup, markedly different than all other paper. I've seen RC's on paper twice and both times it was like most paper, thicker than writing or magazine type paper but still, smooth paper. Actual blotter paper is very obviously different and the people high up that lay acid don't mess around with 'whatever is around'. True blotter paper is not hard to find but you have to go get it, not just use any old card stock that you can run through a press and might hold a bit of liquid.
But to add to the taste comment, true blotter paper doesn't have preservatives, binding agents or coatings. Chemicals are used to bleach cotton and wood fibers white and inks (depending on type) might leave a tiny bit of taste, but that's about it. Blotter paper is high cotton content.

I take it I'm not the only one to try it:daisy:

I suppose I read it's also unstable enough that if you shake a vial of powder in the dark you see tiny flashes.... think it might have been as excerpt of hoffman. Maybe it's actual chemical degredation that you feel.

    Just throwing that out there.

Yes. I did know that and considered it when writing. But I personally have not seen LSD on true blotter paper in a while and about 60% of what I have had over the decades has been on "other" types of paper where different things can effect taste.
But yes, real blotter paper should be fairly clean.

Yup, pure LSD crystal does emit flashes of light when shaken.
Both Hoffman and Shulgin made mention of it.
Not sure about the idea that it does that because of instability.

I think it's because LSD is infused with all the power and energy of LOVE in the universe, man. That's why it sparks and feels/tastes electric, it's all that universal love energy man!!!:afro:

lsd can taste metallicy like a penny, but it can also be completely tastless.

but then RCs can also taste metallic and bitter. so for all i know all the bitter tabs could just be an RC. putting an lsd blotter on your tongue shouldn't really taste of anything except for maybe giving your nervous system and your mind a jolt.

alot of real good lsd that i have had was completely tastless.

i really don't think that the ink on a blotter paper accounts for any kind of taste. what you are tasting is the few hundred mics of chemical that is absorbed within your blotter paper. although it might seem like it is too small of an amount of the chemical to taste, it is also the same amount of chemical that is about to make you trip. if 350 mics of lsd has the ability to have such profound effects on a person for 12 hours, i don't know why it is so far fetched that you might be able to taste the same 350 mics.
