Hey all, my name is Smokey (yes, I really DO go by that name) and I hail from Chicago, the American center for political corruption. I used to be a semi-regular over at the Channels.nl forums, but apparently they've pulled the plug, so here I am. I've been to Amsterdam twice, and my only regret is leaving it (Screw Disney, THIS is the happiest place on Earth.) First time I went was when they had "the heaviest snow storm [they've] seen in 20 years" (about equivalent to what we Midwesterners consider a slight dusting.) The second time was for New Years, which my lady and I spent mainly sitting on a bench in Spui Square, smoking joints, guzzling cheap Champagne and enjoying the hell out of all the fireworks going off around us. I'm hoping to go once more before the Netherlands completes their scheme of slitting the throat of their tourism cash cow, while causing crime and unemployment to skyrocket. Hopefully common sense will eventually prevail.
Hey Smokey, I'm Marebare welcome. I've been to Amsterdam twice as well, it is AWESOME.....I wasn't aware that they are changing things.....are they going to ruin it for everyone? Bummer
