Depends on if the pill is taken correctly and there isn't anything interfering with it.. and if the condom is used correctly.. because they can be used incorrectly..
I think the pill, when used correctly, is 99% effective. A condom, when used effectively, is something like 96% effective..I'm just guessing there. So, obviously, 195% effective.
wow you are really obsessed with having sex without a condom, huh? Remember, there is still a chance to get pregnant on the pill. Don't hold your breath if you aren't using a condom...
I think you like... cross multiply, or something, to do this math? I don't remember. But I can tell you that if both are used properly, the success rate should be upwards of 99.99%, if my half assed guess is correct. Mostly depends on condom and pill type, and how you use them.
without a condom is what I said... This is the 2nd post. Birth control is never 100% no matter what you do. Wanna know a good birth control? Abstinence.
I'm going to take the 96% and 99% numbers here, but the math is really easy, so feel free to try other numbers for yourself, I'll talk you guys through this cuz you all seem to have failed your highschool math class: 96% chance avoid pregnancy on condom -> 4% chance to get pregnant 99% chance avoid pregnancy on pill-> 1% chance to get pregnant So, let say you have sex 1,000,000 times. Of those 1,000,000 times, 1000000 * .04 = 40,000 of those times you could get pregnant even tho you are using condom. Now of those 40,000 times, the pill has a 1% chance of allowing you to get pregnant, so 40000*.01=400. So out of 1,000,000 times, you could get pregnant 400 times; 400/1000000=.0004 which is a .04% chance, or a 99.96% chance of being safe. In a very simple equation, chance of avoiding pregnancy: (1 - (1-.99)*(1-.96) )*100=99.96 Hope that helps.
The effectiveness for birth control is not about the chance of getting pregnant with each time you have sex; it is about the chance of getting pregnant within a one year period of time using that kind of contraception. So, if condoms are 96% effective, 4 women out of 100 will get pregnant within one year, that is, if they use condoms perfectly and only use condoms for contraception. Also, it is probably best to do the math for the typical use instead of the perfect use, because there is a better chance than not that you will mess up with it at some point and be a typical use person instead of a perfect use person. Typical use for condoms is about 85% and typical use for the pill is about 90%.
