Is this actually a law?

I was in a convenience store earlier and attempted to buy a box of condoms... the clerk told me that i was only 16 and so she wouldn't sell them to me. If it's some kind of law, it's pretty idiotic. Would they rather have teens have unprotected sex and have children at 16 because they can't buy protection?

i feel soo happy to have a girl my age here! im 16 too, and im in canada and their is no laws on smoking (well you cant buy cigs until your 18, but can smoke them whenever) and on birth control.. i myself have a purity ring that is there to remind me of my morals, i wanna fall in love with someone and have the feeling be mutual for the right reasons, on the other hand that doesnt mean that i abstain from fellatio but thats a different subject.. just be at a place where you know even if your hurt, you wont regret a thing

But no, it's not a law.... like anywhere. And you can get free condoms if you want them. Try a family planning type clinic, they'll stuff condoms down your throat by the fistful.

Given your age, go to your school nurse, make sure that anything you tell them is confidential, and then don't tell them anything..... but ask for condoms.

the reason for this is government cutbacks to ngo's in canada as well as the catholic church pressuring their own affiliates to stop this practice
