do it man, but only one which goes back a long way, victorian/edwardian graveyard architecture can be staggeringly beautiful, especially under moonlight, given the emphasis on shadow.

    but show some respect, obviously.

Yeah, I used to cut corners through one through to the convenience store. Not very often though, I was like 17. Had I been 21 I would have gone through nightly.

    Corpses don't care.

And as long as you don't go digging up graves, families don't either.

When I was an angsty teen, I used to run away to the local cemetery at night when my mom wouldn't stop bitching at me for one thing or another... It wasn't so much for the atmosphere as just to get away. There was a building where I assume they kept all the maintenance tools and such and I would hide behind it so that my mom couldn't see me when she would drive by slowly patrolling the town for me... Don't know why she never got out of the car.
Anyway, I always found it quite peaceful, even at night. It helps that there was a street light, so it was never really pitch black.
Now I HAVE been in some that have had quite a creepy vibe, and I would not consider going there alone at night for any reason. One near my high school that we used to go for my photography class and another surrounding a memorial chapel a little ways off from us in the sticks- see here: http://garrettchapel.org/index.htm -It's not so creepy in photos during the day, but this place is scary as fuck at night.

stoned kids hanging around my friends grave in the middle of the night hoping to see a ghost leaving roaches and empty bottles around pisses me the fuck off. i don't believe in ghosts, spirits or even souls, but people go to graveyards for moments of sombre reflection and to remember their loved ones, they don't wanna see your rubbish lying around.

iode...thanks for opening...allow me to close

fucking graveyards are such a waste of space...and now we have them every where and we are stuck with them.

.too sacreligous to plow them under and build parks for the living not parks for the dead..

no way i am getting put in a grave yard....fucking burden my 2 kids with that shit....nope.....spread my ashes in my sons weed crop that year and be done with me....

.....so forgive me that i dont believe in paying respects after the day someone goes underground because its a waste of time

here's an idea...pay respects to people you love while they are alive...or with a fucking tribute ad in the obits....what ever....

    so there is that
    and this

broony my brother....dude there is no such thing as ghosts or we would have had actual proof long before now.....all those witness accounts are either drugs, booze, mental illness or plain temporary something

the noise in the attic was a racoon on the roof or 2 birds fighting or any number of other reasons

having said that......it is my belief that years of hearing stories about grave yards have conditioned us to think ''scary''....hence the myth:)

spirits dont haunt graveyards.. there's nothing there. . they haunt the things and places that meant something in their life.

That being said, my first time tripping on shrooms was in the cemetary at night. it wasnt bad at all

I'm not concerned with the neighorhood at all.

I don't give a shit about police. Around here, with only a few cops (small population) that you have seen more than once, they wont be a problem. Even if one of them does see me.

All i need to do is wait for a bright night and walk right in the backside of the cemetery. I can get to that part of the fence through property that only apple trees live on...not a single house. This will not be hard, even going at dusk and waiting for dark would work really well.

I was sober when i heard what i heard in my house that one day. And i know what i heard. Someone was walkin around up there, they never left the room itself cause it did not sound it at all, but for 3 to 4 seconds...someone was up there in my room.

honestly never thought "don't be a prick, be considerate to people who may be in mourning by not leaving your shit lying around in a graveyard" would turn out to be a controversial opinion :D

If I could get in there at night, I would go and camp out in the garden where a bunch of different kids I've known are buried. I wouldn't expect to be haunted, I just feel like it should be done. I don't know why. I'd have to disguise myself really good, though, my grandpa is in the garden over and he wouldn't like it if I got too rowdy. ;)

i used to think cemeteries were a waste of space, and soon the world would be overtaken by them.

now i see the cemetery around me as another sort of "park" or public place. i go there to ride my bike, people walk their dogs (oh my!), and people go to generally enjoy nature. i don't know anyone buried there, and most of the areas i tend to hang around have people buried from the late 1800s or early 1900s, so i don't think their relatives are coming to visit them often.

I will take pictures when the night is right.

This is going to be sweet, ive never waked and listened to the sounds of a graveyard in the middle of the night.
