What those girls/women did with those ribbons and balls was amazing. I want softball back tho. The US women won more medals than the men. Something around 65 % of them. I enjoyed the Olympics, even tho I only have rabbit ears.( On my TV ,I mean.)
On Time Warner Cable, there were times when I had access to as many as six different events at once! :willy_nilly: How was anybody supposed to figure out what to watch? This week, I'll be poking around online to look into some of the things I missed. Due to my unfortunate habits of working, eating, and sleeping, I think I missed more than I saw.
C Women are still second class citizens in many countries so its no surprise that womens sports dosnt have as strong of a showing around the world.
The day a woman can beat Usain Bolt in the 100 meter dash, dunk a basketball like Blake Griffin, or toss a football like Tom Brady, I’ll take an interest in women’s sports beyond watching beach volleyball :2thumbsup: Hotwater
yeah... it's not a sexism thing women just aren't as good as sports. sport is entertainment not obligation to its audience.
i mean even if women won more medals in the u.s they were competing against other women. i don't see what that has to do with comparable standard.
my point had nothing to do with watching it. i couldnt care less how popular womens sport is. i was explaining why western women are more likely to medal than women in more oppressed countries.
If you watched the Olympics and have a sense of humor, you have to love this: http://mckaylaisnotimpressed.tumblr.com/  There's just too damn many pics on there. I gave up after about 300. You know it has to suck to be her right now.
She actually has had a fantastic reaction to it and has shown the world what a good sense of humor she has. Her and her teammates on the Colbert Report. lol
