I recently went through my clothes and bagged up those that don't fit, or I don't wear. Before I donate them, I'd like to go through and pick some clothes that I really liked, and try to repurpose the fabric or designs to decorate my room. Any suggestions would be appreciated :2thumbsup:

Depends on the fabric, size of the pieces, etc.

Easy answers are pillow covers, curtain tie backs, quilt/wall hanging, curtains (can be patchworked, too), repurposing into other clothes or accessories, rag rugs.

Hmmmm. What about lamp shades? You could make a set of placemats or napkins. Cover light switch plates. Cover plain bins.

Oh, yay for decluttering and thing purging.
And extra yay for thinking how to use the materials again.

If you have any wool sweaters you can shrink them in hot water and make felt. Felt can be used in any number of ways.

I even read where someone unraveled sweaters to get yarn and then knit other things with the yarn, such as a hat or mittens.

I recently made a rag rug but depending on the size, you may need a lot of fabric. I used two queen sized sheets to make mine and used almost all the fabric.

I found this while looking for something else. Back in the day I used to make old jeans into long skirts. Usually I used other denim for the inserts and would embroider on the skirt. This video is for a short skirt use the same method for a longer skirt. There are other videos with longer instructions in youtube

There's some great how-to's about using favorite tee shirts to make quilts, it shows off the graphics. I crocheted some rugs and baskets from my old work shirts, the stains made them not suitable for donating and crocheting made the spots not matter.
