I've been following this very closely. I really thought that because of what is now world wide publicity about the case the sentence would have been a lot less. It was really too much to ask for a not guilty! The defence lawyers weren't even given a chance to call all of the witnesses! If you can and haven't already done so try and see the video of the women in the church and get a real feel for why this verdict is so so wrong!

 

As far as I'm aware the verdict is being delivered on the 17th of this month

You can get probation or community service in this country for far worse than what they were given 3 years in prison for. Is Russia's justice system too harsh, or is ours too soft? I think it's probably a bit of both...

I'm well aware of the ndaa. I'm about as bitter towards the US government as a white girl with no real disadvantages in life can possibly be, for that amongst hundreds of other reasons.
