Is it just me or...?

are the news networks starting to not really care where they get their sensationalistic bullcrap anymore? It's almost like they browse tweets and forum rumors, then have it on the news by 11 as solid fact. A prime example of this is the "bath salts zombie" thing. There wasn't bath salts involved, and there was no evidence other than rumors in the first place. Was enough for the media to say "BATH SALTS MADE A GUY EAT AN OTHER GUYS FACE"! I have also noticed from personal experience that they change the wording of pretty much every story, and choose which side to fight for. I just don't see the point of "informing" people if the information simple isn't true. Faith in Television quickly diminishing.

I stopped believing everything the news said ages ago. If you want the news, go get it first hand, yourself.

 

You don't see the point in informing people if it's not true? Well it's simple misinformation is their goal, they want you to support their war on terror, and they want you to support Romney or Obama. I came across a quote from one of the Rockefeller guys and he said something like "We'll just bombard the people through the media, and constantly tell them that terrorism is a threat, and they will believe it." And here we are today invading other countries, with lying politicians. It's the same shit that Hitler did. There's also paid actors who show up in the news as witnesses all the time.

 

It's all about the money and the ratings. To try to get a composite view on things, I actually watch CNN, FOX, and MSNBC. 3 totally different views of most stories. However, I'm more into CNN than the others. At least it seems if they try to present balanced opinion on their shows.

yet another success story for fox news. they successfully got half the people to believe the crap they say, and successfully distracted the other half into focusing on one tv channel as the ultimate enemy.

 

The America news media is a joke. It's not even so much what they present as news; it's all the millions of stories they conveniently leave out.

 

Its always been there, even with newspaper ,look into Hunter S Thompsons "Hells Angels", it talks abit about the same issues. The thing is that the level of bullshit inserted into media equates to the general retardness of the average reader.

 

You guys are always picking on fox. Meanwhile, (many of you,) refuse to see the political bias in CNN, the BBC, MSNBC and, just about every single other news network. They all have an agenda, and they're all feeding us lies, behind those fucking shit-eating grins!!!

I've seen TV news where they read the newspaper to you or read stuff off the internet. While showing you exactly what they're reading from.

I've seen state-controlled media. And I mean CONTROLLED. Censored.

I was going to make this point. Independently ran publications have the freedom to write what they want, true. But the vast majority of American media is owned by the same few media giants and they don't allow their journalists to report just anything.

Freedom of press only exists in theory in the US

 

I noticed this with the Carbon tax here in Aus this year in July, 6 months ago it was polling as very unpopular, but they just bombarded the media with it. And now its polling as most think its necessary. I wont go into the uselessness of another regressive tax, or that its going to do diddly squat in terms of reducing carbon emissions. Point is it doesnt matter, they know if you just bombard all the sheep with how they are suppose to think then eventually......
