Why do you no longer have dreadlocks, how do you feel after that, and has that had any effect on your hair?

As for me I had dreads and shaved them off because I was practically homeless at one point. As a result I had no time to wash my hair, got lice, and shaved them off as anti-lice shampoo did not do the trick.

I got rid of my last set because they were getting really heavy and I had constant head aches.

    Court.

Turned out it didn't matter anyways. But I'm glad I did, because otherwise I only would have become more devoted to that set with the time put into it, and I did too much ripping, my taste changed as my hair locked and now I prefer tree-sized locks.

Besides, dreadlocks are dirty and spread HIV/AIDS.

My scalp hurt, it felt gammy, and I was a little claustrophobic under all those knots. Felt so good to brush my hair again. Can't stop playing with those nice soft bits.

    Still want them back ><

Did you chop them or brush them out?

I want dreads so bad but I change my mind so much and there is no way I could cut my waist length hair off!

I felt like I cared too much about the way I looked, and I looked awful with half-dreaded dreads, and I got impatient, and was looking for a job...
I still wish I could have them, but I don't see it happening for a long time.

If you brush you'll lose a lot of lenght no matter what, and/or it will look whispy until it grows out. You will still at least need a trim after the brush to make it look right.

Either way, dreads are not something to change your mind on. You need some degree of real commitment before you start, and the understanding that you'll look like shit, by many people's standards, for years, if not forever. I think you should set a time limit of at least a year before allowing yourself to remove them, if you do start.

couldn't fit the required work helmet on and my dreads became more of a nuisance than they were worth.
Being an apprentice boilermaker/welder I'd be sweaty for a good part of the day. Head started to get gammy and gross. Washing dreads every few nights was unreasonable as they'd take up to 20 hours to dry.

sparked up some scalp psoriasis in the end as well.

Prosecuter said the judge wouldnt see me unless I cut them off, and I was in jail at the time. One of the worst things to ever happen to me.

But there was NO WAY i could brush them out. They tried, my shit was so tight they would pull my scalp off before they brushed my dreadlock.

You could probably get a massive amount of money from the state for that.

Except that you live in jersey.

    Yea this is my problem.

My hair will dread no problem. I have friends who want me to dread my hair. It so much work because i would want dreads no thicker than my pinkie finger...the twist and rip method works really well for me...i already only wash my hair with baking sode...lost of stuff is right...but im still like uhhh im not sure.....

Im trying to find someone to help me out and section the back side first and slowly start to get them....ugh,,,,but i dont know...we will see....after i twist and rip the front ill barly have enough llength on them to tie them back (when im at work they must be tied) so i will wait another two months thinkning about it,,,,

Can't quite remember why, it was either someone threw a fit that I couldn't get married with my dreads (should've kept the dreads and given back the ring, my mistake) or looking for a job. My mom cut about half of each dread off for me, and I used a fistful of Aussie 'Deep' 3-minute-miracle conditioner to get the rest combed out. It trimmed out to chin length hair when I was done but there was a huge mess of stray strands to sweep up after two days worth of combing. Still have em in a silk bag, does that count?
