It mentions that a certain file is missing....I got in the BIOS with a keyboard then reboot from there but nothing. I thought about running linix .ISO file on a flash drive stick but then thats not the original OS which is Vista.... The tablet was bought in China and installed Vista on it.... Its my firends what can I do to reinstall Vista when the tablet has no disk drive?
Easiest method: Pull the hard drive out. I'm assuming it has as removable SATA HD. Hook it up to a PC with that has a DVD-ROM. Boot the PC with a Windows 7 boot disk (or vista if you must). Win 7 disk will copy files and ask for a partition. I recommend deleting all partitions and format the drive, then select the new partition to install window on. Let the installation go as if you're installing for the PC. When it copies all files and wants to reboot for the first time, shut the PC down and remove the hard drive. Put the HD back in the tablet and boot it up, windows installation should continue on the new device. This method works on netbooks with no optical drives.
Well I took.out the tablets hd out plugged it into another comp and installed win xp BLACK. IT INSTALLed after I completely redid the partiton. Then the computer work smoothly. I took out the hd then back in the tablet and start up but then said that some new hardware was detected and if I should start up in safe mode, command prompt or last good config. Then the xp icon showed with the bar that fills with blue bars but then restarted again and back to the if I want to start in safe mode etc..... The tablet doesnt have a cd drive so I obviously instald xpblk by another comp.... Wat can I do??
I'm no whiz kid but could it stem from the fact that you're putting a pc os on a tablet that more likely than not doesnt have the processor type requirments.? Also are the flash drivers made to run winxp? For instance my old android tablet has a arm11 750mhz cpu. not much else to go on. while windows and most other pc os systems recquire intel 86 or amds 64 to run them. I am stuck with my android os. You might want to open a thread at XDA they will have more experience handling your problem. You might want to check out Meego os they might have a code for your device drivers and an ok os to boot to your tablet. Jus trying to help.
He said the original OS was Vista. I have a Vista key HP laptop that will not take Windows XP, only Vista or Win7 will install.
