    you know who's really good...

    macy gray.

i love her second album, 'the id.'

she puts on a great concert, too.

and of course, there are all of the good old rock 'n roll bands...

Music is a personal preference thing but mine is

    Staind
    Rush
Will Smith (early years when it was funny songs)
    Metallica
    Platnium Blondes
    Lynard Skynard

Lots more but I am pretty open to assorted music, just has to have solid meaning, make me think, feel or laugh!

Honestly I would recomened just about most artists from Japan seeing as how thats all I listen to. But the best artists from Japan would be:

    + Dir en grey
    + Psycho le Cému
    + MALICE MIZER
    + Pierrot
+ Miyavi (AKA: Miyabi, AKA: MYV)

And if your more into pop music...

    + w-inds.
    + T.M. Revolution
    + Glay
    + Gackt

    Letters To Cleo is great!

My final bid, though, would be Juliana Hatfield. She's my only true music idol - I am so obsessed with her stuff!

I haven't heard it, sadly. But I've got a bunch of records and the song "Super Model" made me start playing in a band.

Edit: And also turned my attention from the grunge scene to pop music. (Still like some of the grunge bands too but it was sort of a turning point for me.)

Ok, I'm only going to recommend albums that almost everyone is sure to like at least some of.

    The Beatles - Revolver (1966)
David Bowie - Hunky Dory (1971)
    John Cale - Paris 1919 (1973)
Brian Eno - Before and After Science (1977)
    Lou Reed - Transformer (1972)
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967)
