I understand. I am trying to diet and get in better shape too but it has been harder for me this time than it ever was in the past.
Self-discipline is key. I can control my cravings now. But there are things I can (and do) like to pig out on sometimes, which I don't have to worry about making me gain weight: fruit, walnuts, macadamia nuts, shrimp, sushi, etc. This is the only type of food I indulge in these days. I won't even touch potato chips or foods loaded with sugar. Basically, fuck all processed food. I don't touch that shit.
What he said ^^^^. You just got find some guilt-free favorites, keep em stocked and remember to go to them when you're craving something not so good for you.
Unfortunately you can't run like a cheetah, unless you're a cheetah. Also, pigs don't eat a very fattening diet, so eating like a pig woudn't be such a bad thing...but I doubt you're actually eating like a pig. (I'm talking about how pigs eat naturally, not what happens when they're fed scraps/slop)
I have the same issue. And I am a starchy person...I can't pass down the pasta or the rice or the bread. I tried switching to whole grain stuff and I can't stand it-except for the bread...whole grain bread is AMAZING
