Hi, I'm new to these boards so let me quickly introduce myself. I'm a 19 year old college student from New York City. All I've ever done is weed and I enjoy myself very much with it. I've always wondered about LSD, but it wasn't until the past couple of months that I have been really interested in it. I've been doing some research about it on sites like Erowid, reading trip reports, and what people have to say about it on forums and such. My cousin and I have been talking about it and we think we're ready. A friend of ours says he has a cousin who sells. We aren't sure about prices or how strong they are but, I'll make sure to ask. When we do it, it will be at my cousin's house. His parents leave for work in the morning and get back at 5:30pm. The plan is: I go the day before, sleep over, and wake up early in the morning so we could have enough time to have the house to ourselves, chill out, listen to music, talk to each other, explore our own minds, and discover what LSD has to offer. I just have a few questions: I'm thinking 6 or 7 AM might be a good time to wake up. LSD is supposed to make you lose your appetite, so how much and how earlier before taking it should we eat breakfast? I'd ask if we should drop while eating, but I assume that would mess stuff up right? How would you describe the after effects? There's only two possible days next week to do it and the day after the second, my cousin would be flying to the Dominican Republic. If we end up having to do it that day, would he be fine by the next day? I wouldn't want the after effects + jet lag to tire him out even more. And what are some of your favorite things to do that you would recommend I try?
While I have never done it in the morning, thats pretty early (unless you use to waking up that early. It wouldnt mess it up, I just recommend eating fruits or healthier food. Not any sausage or bacon (generally any meat). After effects for me and my friends, are just feeling lazy really. No headaches or pains, just want to chill watch tv or sleep Other than him probably feeling tired or lazy, no extra effects should really bother him if any OUTSIDE, i cannot stress this enough. Going outside on a psychedelic is the best thing in the world in my opinion. I recommend you have a not populated area to go to, maybe a forest or a field (considering you aren't scared of the forest at night). That is where most people I know and myself find the "spiritual" journey part. But if you have to stay inside, watching some trippy music videos was something I did before. Ill link a few for you to see if your interested in that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9dSYgd5Elk"]MGMT - Time To Pretend - YouTube ^This video oddly enough changed my life on LSD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjxH_a5U7wA"]Jimi Hendrix - Valleys Of Neptune - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX3k_QDnzHE"]M83 'Midnight City' Official video - YouTube ^One of my favorite bands
Assuming you'll have LSD and you only eat one tab (which is what I recommend), you shouldn't have any problems with nausea, so you could eat your acid with breakfast. One tab lasts me six hours, so no worrying about parents coming. Be sure to ask how long the stuff you're getting usually lasts. If they say that a single tab lasts 12 hours, I would not trip. Hope for 6-7 hours. After effects are nonexistent. You'll probably have great dreams and a positive afterglow the next day. If your cousin is going to get jet-lag, I wouldn't do it. Sounds like it might spoil the trip. The first, and greatest trip of mine, I didn't really plan anything. I was with my greatest friends, enjoying each others' company, remembering what it felt like to be a kid. There wasn't any fear. Just a sense that everything is perfect the way it is. Tranquility. Good day. Do whatever you'd like, and I'd recommend you stay out of the public. Hope it all goes well and you discover something wonderful.
You could have some breakfast or fruits or something while waiting for the onset. I usually fast the day of an eat while coming down. I'd describe them similar to Legocy, a sense of lethargy. Sometimes it can be pleasant, sometimes I feel mentally drained. I'd recommend the following day that you don't have major responsibilities. Listen to music, checkout prettty scenery.
Great plan, here are my only issues with it, which are for you to decide: Waking up early, if you are going to feel groggy, and un-energetic, it's probably a bad idea, unless you will feel good in a couple of hours. Expect to wake up, drop the acid, and go along with your business like shower, brush your teeth whatever, and you could even eat breakfast here. Just fine actually. What acid does it affects the part of your brain that registers hunger, so you won't feel hungry, but it's still possible to eat on acid. So you may even want to prepare a healthy lunch to eat later in the trip! Expect the effects to take from 1 to 2 hours hit, so in that time you just get ready like mentioned above. Second, when your parents get home, even if you are slightly tripping (which you shouldn't be if you are only taking 1-2 hits) you'll be on the comedown, and everything may seem a little weird. You went through this huge experience, you'll probably be thinking a lot, so just try to act normal and everything will seem casual. You can even just say you're hungry or tired.. No questions. Tripping with another person can be hard, because you have to atleast share some of the same interests. For instance, you must try music, and it's better if you can agree on it, but otherwise, it'll be fine if you can just switch between songs. I like to draw, and stuff. Talking can be very fun, share the experience, you'll find it's very strange talking to another creature Mirrors are insane, just watch yourself in a mirror, and fall into yourself. You may become see a lizard haha, it'll make sense when you try it. I mean it's impulsive just do what you can do. And outside is incredible, but only do it if it won't make you too paranoid. This is always my advice with someone on acid: Whatever emotion you will be feeling, will be amplified more than you could imagine, so don't do anything that makes you too uncomfortable. The bad trip scene, that's all caused from fear of a bad trip, just let it be, if you feel happy, you'll feel happier than you thought possible. So be relaxed! Have fun! Learn, ride the music
Thanks a lot for the great advice! I'm really excited about this and I have a feeling this will be a great trip. My cousin and I have a lot in common, share the same music taste, always have interesting conversations and we've had amazing times on just weed alone, so I can't even imagine what acid will do. But, I'm not too sure if I'm ready to go outside yet since we're from the city and all. Definitely going to try it sometime though.
As others have said, going outside is a MUST. Just because you are from 'the city' doesnt mean you cant go outside and enjoy this giant organism we live on while tripping/
go outside! i like to eat about 2 or 3 hours before dosing. you can drop LSD right after eating and it should work fine, but food in your stomach will impair absorption a bit i think. most of your LSD dose actually gets absorbed in the GI tract, but food in there would also impair absorption i would guess. but i don't think it matters all that much. i would advise against tripping when you'll have to see parents in ~8 hours. if you really trip, you will lose track or sense of time. it will seem like you have been in that state for days, and that it will take at least forever for you to feel normal again. it's not true, you will be sober after a good night's sleep, but just those type of thoughts while tripping can kind of ruin it for you. do it when you have a solid 12 hour chunk of time. or maybe leave the house so you aren't home when they get home? honestly, i think it would be on my mind the whole time and cause anxiety.
Trip somewhere that you feel comfortable Go outside if you can - nature is an ever-magical wonderland of pure beauty and awe, and LSD amplifies it all! You may have some nausea, but you can prepare for that. Me and my bf usually stock up on gingerale (the kind made with REAL ginger), ginger tablets, and sometimes ginger mints! It can help some. We also tend to take one hit of weed on the come up just to ease the nausea; however you may or may not want to mix MJ with LSD - on my first LSD trip I didnt smoke MJ because I wanted the experience of just LSD. A good hit should last more that 6 hours, so be prepared if the rents come home. Perhaps have a backup plan, like retiring to your cousin's room or a basement...somewhere you can relax and do stuff without being disturbed by parents. Other than that, just dont try to fight it! Let it take you wherever, go with the flow, whatever! HAVE FUN!!
I would say it depends what time the parents plan on leaving in the morning. If they leave for work at 5am or 6am, and you dose around the same time you will be just fine... You might still feel some lingering effects when they get home, but after 10 hours or so (especially on only 1 hit) you will be just fine and certainly coherent enough to talk to the parents and act normal if you have to. So I would say, dose around 5 or 6am if you can. As porkstock said, time can certainly be distorted on LSD, and if you've only got a period of 8 or 9 hours to house the entire trip you're probably going to get anxious and paranoid at some point that the parents will be home while you're still tripping. And anxiety and paranoia are NOT at all good when tripping. I would give yourself a solid 12 hours for the trip if at all possible... On one hit, you will certainly have already peaked and be on the come-down after 5-7 hours (unless these are doses from outer space, or an RC as opposed to LSD). After 10-12 hours, you should certainly be able to face your parents and act totally normal. Whatever you do, don't start freaking out about your parents coming home during the trip... as porkstock said, that's very likely to happen when people attempt to squeeze a trip into a time period that isn't really long enough for a trip, especially with important obligations immediately following the experience. You WILL be sober in about 12 hours, in fact around 6-8 hours you will notice the effects diminishing and your slow progression back toward baseline. I also recommend a nature setting. Psychedelics certainly seem to have some sort of connection to the natural world, and can really open your eyes to the beauty of our biosphere. They seem to have a smoother flow (in my experience anyways) when you are immersed in nature, as opposed to sitting inside somewhere. Either way has it's pro's and con's though. On the other hand, (mind)set and setting are crucial factors that must be taken into consideration in planning for a trip... If you are accustomed to the city, and are not totally comfortable in nature, I wouldn't recommend an rural outdoor setting... Especially not for your first ever psychedelic experience. It is DEFINITELY something that you need to try at some point though, and being so accustomed to city life and lifestyle, I feel like you could have some earth shattering revelations by tripping in nature. One more thing; don't try to wrestle with the experience or strive to control it too much. Let go, and give yourself over to the flow... I will send good energy your way :sunny: Most importantly; have fun! You sound like a smart cat, hope you stick around the HF!
i'm a grown man, and i would not want to see my parents 12 hours after dosing LSD. sure, i'm mostly sober by then, but i'm still a bit "off." but i don't live with my parent's anymore (like most adults), or see them THAT often, so when i do it means catching up, talking, etc. if i was still living with them, and in 12 hours my parents were gonna come home, but i was still gonna be with my friend, and my parents would basically say hi and that's it....then that's do-able. i don't think i tried LSD when i was still living at home. and mushrooms are shorter lasting good to see you back around, chad
Watch out for wanting to talk about the trip to people who might not be so okay with it. I tripped lightly on one hit but it was so great I had to tell everyone. I thought I was being selective with who I told but basically everyone in my school knew about it by the end of the week, which might have kinda sucked if not for that I graduated that week.
Definitely, that's what I was getting at. If it's going to be a situation where you're going to have to sit and have whole conversations with his parents then it's probably not going to be a good idea, and they might know somethings up... However if you really only have to acknowledge them with a simple "Hi" and pretty much go about your business, you will be fine. Plus this is only one tab, if it were 2 or 3 that would be a different story... I would not want to face family in 12 hours after that. The higher the dose, the more "off" you seem to feel in the hours immediately proceeding the trip... Only a meal and a good nights sleep seems to help that after a big enough dose. And thanks man, it's good to be back... Nice to have a place to discuss my interests with other like-minded people around the clock :2thumbsup:
Well from my experience, it's possible to talk to parents. I've had a lengthy conversation with my parents on acid before, I was coming downstairs with a glass of water, and my mom stopped me to asked what I did that day (I was out with friends earlier in the day). And on the come-up of my acid trip, maybe 2-3 hours in I had to talk to her for about .. well who knows, I'm bad at measuring time, and my perception of time wasn't exactly linear.. ha but I'd say maybe 10-15 minutes..? But she wasn't suspicious. Now I still don't recommend letting it happen by any means, it was terrifying, and it destroys your high with paranoia and racing thoughts for like hours, but it's doable. At the end of the trip though, it will be even easier. You just won't want to be talking to your parents. I've done it a couple of times while living with my parents, just at night. But I wish I could have waited until I moved out, it would have made lots of the trip(s) more comfortable.
