We own The No Where Ranch in Teabo Yucatan. We have hooked up with some people from S.C. who are putting on a festival on our farm this winter in Dec. and Jan. here is their link www.elementalgrow.com the web site has all the info. there is way more info there than I can put here.

We are pretty freakin' excited to be doing this in Mexico along with the No Where Ranch this year. We actually first noticed these folks almost 2 years ago here on Hip Forums, and thought they were awesome for trying to set up a community project there in Teabo.

When 2012 came around and we started to look for anyone crazy enough to consider a festival and project like Elemental Grow, we remembered these folks and contacted them. And they said YES. And so this is happening.

    HOORAY!!

This is year one for this community project and gathering, and it's a new festival concept, so it's a brand new attempt at something wonderful.

The concept is an evolution of Burning Man, Family Reunion and other weekend camping type events, where the purpose is to grow the overall value of the event for the event community, with time.

One of the biggest ways we plan to do this is to have plots of land for each patron so that y'all can build things for yourselves, and a returning guest policy so that everyone can get their ticket and their build spot from year to year.

Lots more details at the website above. I know the website's not finished...bear with us, now, this really IS a grassroots startup and totally homegrown. Gotta start somewhere, and improve things with time...

So many festivals are totally awesome, but then it become frustrating for people when they become very popular, the people who have been there from the beginning and have worked to make it what it is. So we've made some changes from the standard model to try to protect that investment by the folks who really make a festival, which is everyone who comes.

Starting year one! Raw land! Who's ready for some wilderness get down?!

    (I am hahahahaa)

The event site is also right around the corner from a TON of awesome Mayan ruin and cave sites, many of which will have celebrations of the turning of the Baktun ongoing during the month of December 2012...the Grow has nothing to do with that date, except that it happens to be happening right when and where the whole thing is centered.

Lots of chances to participate in amazing cultural activities while you're there. :D

We're looking forward to having the chance to see what happens when folks can really invest in the long term with a community festival...who knows what might evolve...

y'all good folks let me know if there's anything I can tell you about this camping and community event, and how we can get you here...we don't want to have to sit out here with alla this tequila ALONE.

this is the church in Teabo where the festival is. Notice the compleation date on the front 1696. The town was a mayan town long before the Spanish came. The Nowhere Ranch, where the festival is being held is at the center of a Pre-Columbian farm community over 1000 years ago. Most of the locals speak fluent mayan.:sunny:
