howdy y'all! i'm mountaingrrl. i live in asheville,nc & i've been browsin' for a lil' bit & decided i liked it here so i joined on in. i been a hippie most of my life, ever since i 1st heard the word i guess. (even tho my redneck elders didn't seem 2 think much of "them damn hippies" lol. so wat, i knew what i wanted 2 be when i grew up!) work has kept me out of the loop for a while but i'm hopin' 2 get in touch with some groovy peoples or @ least put my 2 cents in. went 2 the gathering in tenn: my 1st national & the 1st gathering i been to in a long time & it made me homesick for some sweet-natured like-minded people. so i'll see you'ns around & thanks fer havin' me. bye now!
what's it like there? i live in florida. i sell hemp stuff on the sidewalk and the bars etc. i imagine its real cold there being in the mountains and all, and well its not florida lol
I've only been there in the summer, but I've heard the climate is moderate even in winter. Also, there's a huge, and really good, drum circle on Fridays in the summer.
well, asheville's not as cold as points further north. we have what us hillbillies call "halfbacks". that's a yankee that moves 2 florida 'cause it's not too cold in the winter. then they realize that florida's too hot in the summer so they move "half" way "back" north & land in western nc. asheville's a pretty laid-back & funky town. in addition 2 the drum circle, we have a pretty lively downtown scene, the river arts district, & a brewery on every corner lol. you ain't too far from the blue ridge parkway, dupont state forest (where they filmed the hunger games) or the pisgah nat. forest so there's all kinds of outdoor stuff 2 do. & asheville's been the gay mecca of wnc 4 a long time now.this weekend is the bele chere festival, when they close off downtown for music & street vendors & turn the civic center into a kid's zone. there's also the lake eden arts festival, the warren haynes xmas jam, shindig on the green, & downtown after 5, just 2 name a few. you'ns orta come check us out.
Hey there, nice to meet you. I've hiked in the Pisgah National Forest ... love all the waterfalls there, sooo pretty.
wonder if its anything like mendocino, ca there, cept ya know more of a city. mendocino is like a bubble in the middle of nowhere. kinda hard to explain it.
