Are you Worried?

As our country has grown industrially, and population has been on a speedy rise exponentially, so has our government. Big industries everyone has started to rely on now dominate the economy, and corporations have become more efficient than our own government. They drive down the economy at will, through clever spending on the war machine that big corporations profit from. Our presidents lie, and cheat the system and yet most Americans are pacified by their televisions and aren't even aware of most laws that have been passed this year, because they do it in secrecy. The National Defense Authorization Act 2012 basically has destroyed our individual rights, and the people of this country still don't realize what is happening.

Basically I want to ask if anyone else is worried, because to me it seems like we are headed in a very dismal direction and it's too late to stop it. I honestly think that after 2012 life will no longer be the same. Tell me what you believe about all of this.

Well that's just a disappointing answer. Don't waste time on a forum without at least saying something valuable. So what if you can no longer go to the store and get clean water, or food, how are your loved ones going to survive? The crime rate will rise in the US like we've never seen. Instead of going for the comedic answer try debating.

 

I own a water filter that's good up to 1,000,000 gallons of water.. not some shitty PUR water filter either.. i can use it in some of the most nasty water in the world.. I also know how to fish.. hunt.. forage.. I do not worry.. mainly because I have more important shit to do than sit around and go "what if"

 

However bad it gets...There's no point in worrying...I always try to stay calm and take positive action within the moment I'm in.The World has always been about to end...If it does...At least it will be the end of the sodding debt crisis.The news is to some extent a self-creating miasma of doom and gloom...They rarely point out all the good things that are happening.

 

The prospect of the world as we know it ending is far more reassuring than it going on as it has been. The worry is that it will carry on business as usual, but I can't see that happening for very long.

 

I worry immensely about the well-being of people as a whole.

I really don't think we'll be here much longer.

People everywhere are losing their minds. Hell, look at the massacre at that movie theatre...people have stopped caring.

And because people have stopped caring, we are just going to start killing each other off until there are none or very few left here.

I find it sad, really.

I am not worried about anything.

I sometimes get anxious thinking about things that can go wrong, but I know that everything comes back to base line eventually.

I don't really care if the entire system collapses...sure it might suck in some ways but what is the point in worrying. I'll worry about it when the time comes.

 

The fear of what's to come is always worse than what actually comes.

Humans are survivors. We as a society have endured through worse in the past.

I'm not scared of being poor. I have basic survival skills. I know how to boil water. I worry every day but I know it will eventually just come down to living in the moment and doing whatever it takes

 

I can't really comprehend stupid laws. What are laws? The people that make these laws are just people, as you and me. So, who are they to tell us what we can and can't do?

Some laws are very very good... But others, i'm not to fond of... Obviously the consequence of breaking a law is prison... but if they implement a law that removes all human and individual rights... do you really think we're all going to mope around like "oh okay " i think not... and they can't imprison us all, nor can they kill us all, that would result in their own death in the end...

There will never be a law that removes peoples rights, and if there is there would be protests and revolutions like never seen before, well.. never seen in this country at least.

*EDIT* okay well maybe Hitler made a few laws to remove a few groups of peoples rights.. but, honestly.. i don't know how he managed to do that, people must have been stupid as fuckin' shit... That wouldn't happen in todays society, especially not in North America..

 

But it already has... Nobody cared.

your scenario is missing some pretty potent information..the least of which is mankinds will to survive.....why do you automatically assume that bad will triumph over good?.....we have survived some very catastrophic times in our history...your scenario is just another thing we will overcome

It's already happening, and to say that the German people were stupid but North Americans are much different is silly. Just look at history, the German people didn't just support invading Poland you know, Hitler needed to justify it, and how did he do that? He used the best tactic in history, fear. He made it seem like Poland would attack Germany if they didn't invade, and he used deliberate terrorism methods to scare the German people into supporting his agenda. Now look at the United States. The 9/11 terrorist attacks happen, the media says that Osama Bin Laden and the brown people did it, and now most Americans support invading their entire country. And what is the result, an all too powerful government time bomb.

 

My post is not a scenario by any means, I've simply stated that the direction we're headed as a nation is a recipe for disaster. I'm sure humans will survive, I'm not speaking of total apocalypse. Maybe people should look at the signs and at least prepare for the worst like my family is doing, but you're right I should know better than to post this in a stoner's lounge where the majority of members probably only care where their next 10 sack will come from.

Oh yes and the point is, that our system of government is broken, that's very important to remember, your votes no longer matter, because the presidential system is rigged, Romney and Obama both support the war, both support stealing your rights, and both will only make the economy plunder.

 

We've got a dark future ahead of us and I don't think there's really much that can be done. It's too late to turn. A lot of people are too stupid to care and even if that wasn't the case, the leaders have so much power. I imagine, only something like the French Revolution could remedy this problem. We're doomed.

 

I'm not worried. It's inevitable and we'll all go thru it together. I constantly psych myself out with a denial game.
