This is a very embarrassing post for me. I have always had bladder problems. I wet the bed daily for my entire life. I also occasionally had leaks if I held it too long. Now I have been suffering from total urinary incontinence for about four months. I literally have no control over my bladder. I have seen a few urologists who all did extensive testing. The only thing they could ever find is I have a very small and weak bladder. I am sort of scared something worse could be causing it. This has been very hard for me to deal with, especially because it developed so quickly and out of nowhere. The only way I can cope with this is wearing diapers 24/7. I hate them but I need them to do anything or else I would wet my pants. Luckily my girlfriend has been very supportive. Any advice or support would be nice.
In Arsetralia We Have An Automotive Product Called "Bars Leaks". It Helps To Stop Leaks In Radiators, Get Yourself Down And Buy A Can, And All Being Well, No More Leaks...:2thumbsup: Cheers Glen.
you should probably learn how to cut off your urine stream with kegel .. better explanation. While you are peeing. try and cut the flow off with your muscles in your penis, bladder, pelvic area.. Avoid pepper foods..
get an ultra sound and check for stones inside your bladder...they obviously missed something because nowadays plumbing problems can be fixed.....
Thank you both for your advice. I try kegels daily but they have not helped. I also had an ultrasound done already which found nothing. I am going to see yet another urologist soon though.
My nurse practitioner told me that kegels have to be done several times a day to be effective. Have they checked your prostate? (I am assuming you are a guy) I hope you find a solution to your problem.
Yes I have had my prostate checked as well which found nothing abnormal. Thank you daisy I really hope to find a cure too. This problem has become somewhat limiting. My sex life has been drastically affected. Also it has made me insecure and I feel everyone can tell I'm wearing diapers. I just want this to all be over.
Have you seen a neurologist? I'm wondering if it's a nerve problem. Did you notice any changes 4 months ago that could've caused the total incontinence, or did it just happen out of the blue? It's curious to me that you've had bladder problems your whole life, but for some reason they just got worse 4 months ago. Were you having to wear diapers all day before? Is it just a constant flow of urine? Do you ever leak urine during ejaculation? Have you ever been tested for diabetes? Did they test your kidneys too? If your bladder is small and weak, kegels won't necessarily be effective. Kegels are effective for stress incontinence--leaking urine when you sneeze or cough. In that case, it's a sphincter problem. But since they already told you your bladder is small and weak, the problem is either your bladder itself or the nerves going into it. Have you tried any medications that treat overactive bladder? Detrol LA is one that comes to mind. I don't know if your bladder is contracting more than normal or not, but if it's unusually small it could help to allow it to hold more. Another idea is Botox--sounds crazy, since most people associate it as a vanity drug, but it works as a paralysis and had many uses in medicine before the cosmetics industry got a hold of it. I had a patient once that was a paraplegic and he had trouble with leaking urine and it worked great for him. Again, if you've seen multiple urologists and they can't help you, my next suggestion would be a neurologist. Don't give up hope--and congrats on finding a girlfriend that accepts you as you are!
I have not seen a neurologist about this as stupid as that sounds. I definitely will be sure to now that you mention this. I saw one when I was about 13 for my bedwetting, everything was normal though. But that may not be the case now. Also it wasn't completely out of the blue as just so much rapidly progressing. Before this I would only have an accident during the day if holding it for extended periods. Even then I could almost always stop the flow at least. It was only about once a month this would happen. And no I didn't need diapers then I only used pads. Over the course of a month I started having much more frequent and complete accidents. Now I barely feel it when I have to go and I cant at all hold it in. I pretty much leak continuously all day. Yes I've been tested for diabetes and had my kidneys tested. As far as medication goes I've tried ditropan, detrol and am now trying vesicare. None seem to have any effect at all. And would Botox be safe? I've never heard of this. Thank you so much I am definitely scheduling a neurologist appointment ASAP.
This wouldn't be appropriate for him. It's used only in diabetes insipidus, a hormonal problem where you can pee up to 40L a day and you're constantly thirsty. His problem isn't that he pees too much, his problem is his bladder's not holding it. OP--It's a relatively new treatment, so I don't know how many doctors are doing it. But here's some more info: http://www.webmd.com/urinary-incont...pproved-for-leaky-bladder-due-to-nerve-damage It's effective in 80% of cases, with the most common side effect being UTIs or bladder retention. And, as an absolute last resort, they can take part of your small or large intestine and make your bladder bigger. Obviously not a first choice, but it's something to think about.
maybe try eating some black beans regularly, and throw in some chinese chives and walnuts also, maybe get acupuncture
