If mankind as a whole is a body, what are Hippies to that body?

Today I looked at this question and thought;

If mankind as a whole is a body, what are Hippies to that body?

What purpose did or do they serve?

 

Hippies, if you want to define them as a body part to the one being body, are the eyes and mouth.

Seeing and speaking what they know in hope that the rest of the body will wake up and see too.

Well, that's just what I'd say, you could put anyone, anywhere on the body and everyone would still play just as much part as the next. The equal body, the one being.

 

The anus. When all the shit builds up in the lower colon of society the hippies help to open the valve (sphincter) of the mind and discharge it all. But when the anus gets fucked too much by conservatives and those in positions of power that don't want minds to be opened, an anal rupture can occur, leading to disfunctional hippies who are obsessed with brightly colored clothing, taking acid and shrooms every 2nd day instead of using them sensibly as tools, and listening to Grateful Dead and Phish all day.

 

A thought.

 

If eyes and mouth, then they would have always been there. So why did they suddenly start to see and speak things that they had never seen or spoken before?

 

An interesting analogy, although I would hate to think of hippies as the anus, a lot of what you say fits the case but hippies seem to be an emergent quality of the body and less one of the members of the body that had always been there.

 

A meme perhaps?

 

What hippies are to the body, in this old hippie's opinion, is a dream.

Your eyes and mouth are some of the only parts of your body you can't see without a mirror, it just took the one being a long time to look in one. They've always been there, just never acknowledged as greatly as they were in the past. When you are born you know you can see and speak, but youve never actually seen your eyes and mouth until they are staring you blankly in your face, or someone shows you where they are...

 

Yea, the liver.... that makes sense. It does a wide range of good things, the body can not survive without it, and one of its main functions is to remove poisons from the system.
