That is a very naive and narrow viewpoint, geographically and historically.
Historically the things I already mentioned are the reason for the overall world population numbers we see today.
Look beyond the Unicef commercials and look at it from a viewpoint spanning all human history and locales and you will see I'm correct.

Yup, and a lot of those areas of the world still have the cultural mindset that in order to ensure one's support into old age, they would have to produce many children. Why? Because for centuries the majority of the kids would not survive into adulthood, those that did could support the parents. But so few did survive that population numbers stayed in check.

Guess what!? Today thanks to all the wonderful advancements in medicine those kids aren't dying and are surviving into adulthood, yet the cultural mentality to have numerous children still exists.

That is the entire point and purpose of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's push for immunizations in these areas and education. Teach the people that they don't have to have 10 kids to ensure 2-3 survive to adulthood.

THAT'S one of the big stumbling blocks to bringing some of these ares into an equilibrium. Getting past centuries old worldviews and cultural practices that are no longer viable in a modern society.

All the other stuff you are talking about, sure there is something to it to an extent, But nowhere near the sinister plots you seem you be seeing.

 

I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in several nations. But this is the Internet and not face-to-face so I could just as well be Minnie Mouse. So I'm cool with it if this issue means that much to you and I can let the issue drop.

Well not unlike how the solution to pot problems is obviously to legalize it.

They establishment and other people that share your opinion have been trying for decades been offering the same solutions over and over again with no success. So either the solutions being proposed don't work or we're being lied to.

One way or another the definition of insane is NOT doing the same thing over and over again. It IS doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result each time.

Abstenance, forced steralization, laws limiting family size, condoms, etc obviously don't work. As you so aptly pointed out, we're currently 7 billion people on the planet.
