Hello people....I would like to know what are the qualifications to becoming an employee at a medical marijuana dispensary. Can anyone just get a job there that knows a lot about Cannabis. Do u have to have a high school diploma , GED , College degree ? Some sort of education in the medical field ? I am thinking of moving to California & would really like to do this as a living. If anybody knows more info on this subject I would appreciate it if u can help me out....Thanks !
You will need to be a legal card holder. Other then that their is no requirement in my home state. I would imagine they would also like you to have good people skills and know about the different effects of the strains and what one will work best for a certain illness.
I imagine you either need to be the store owner or acquainted to someone who owns a medical marijuana dispensary. Cause let's face it every pot head in the nation would want a job like that. Odds are the guy who runs the store works for all the hours that it's open. Though I imagine some culinary skills would come in handy for making edibles and basic marijuana knowledge.
Not according to the ads linked here; http://legalmarijuanadispensary.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23&sid=f5f87bd8229adbc92beb698e4bb6ac7b Most sounded like applying for any other type of job, although I guess there is a bias to hire big-titty, brainless bimbos for budtenders. At least according to some of the threads in that forum.
they get paid minimum wage at best. hours are few and far between (usually) job is in high demand because it's easy as shit.
Don't you mean they get minimum wage at least? It is after all called minimum wage. A lot of dispensaries around me make use of volunteers for everything.
i don't think it's that difficult to get a job at a dispensary... i assume you just have to be a med patient yourself with no criminal record and they'd be happy to interview you. i've known people who worked at them and all they basically did was inquire while they were picking up their meds and somehow it all worked out. can't say about the specifics but i know it's very possible. having good people skills, i'm sure that helps. and knowing a lot about which strains are good for what is also a huge plus but i'm sure that's something they could coach you on if you got hired. good luck!
