So after seeing 5 different doctors while being stuck in horrible withdrawal trying to quit myself and relapsing quite a few times during I finally found a doctor that was more then willing to subscribe me 8mg/2mg Suboxone 2x a day.

It's been working great for me so far after IV'ing heroin for a few years I never knew that a medication would be able to make me feel like myself again without giving me some sort of opiate high.

My insurance has oddly been covering a huge portion of it and I have actually been spending my spare money on things I need. I've also been utilizing my medical marijuana card a lot more often now :sifone:

I'm a little worried about being taken off suboxone but that's awhile away and I am supposed to be slowly tapered down and have heard of people using kratom once they are completely off suboxone but I am probably thinking to far ahead.

Anyway don't really know what the point of this thread was other then to possibly hear some input from others, thanks!

My girl takes the 2mg strips. She had a pill problem. It helps her a lot but getting her off the subs is proving difficult. Good luck to you.

I'm glad man. I hope you can get off suboxone also, get your mind to the right state, and want to be clean. I was on sub for 3 years, after a 8 year daily addiction of opiates, mainly oxycontin, morphine, and dope here and there for periods between the years. But suboxone is actually one of the worst physical withdraws of all opiates, and last waaaaay too long. It was a tough 2-3 weeks, and couple months honestly, as it sloooowly got better. But after all of that I do feel amazing from not having a addiction to suboxone or opiates anymore(still have my xanax and bud daily habit though). Its strange for your body to feel normal.
I randomly got some strips 6 months ago, started taking them often for a couple weeks here and there, kinda of because of the horrid situation I got myself into, a women 17 years older than me, if that helps lol. I havent touched any opiates or sub in 4 months, ive had one next to me under a book since then, no urge for it at all, which is pretty cool, having it next to me, always there I think helps alot on my will power. I actually have a needle in my house for months, and haven't hardly thought about making it a goal to get any. Strange days, strange days.

If you can drink Kratom tea, then it will help you a lot in this whole process, may be hard to keep down when coming off suboxone, but it will make your body feel so much better. It will be great to use after you get off of it also But make sure you don't make this your new addiction, try to cut back after a few weeks, slowly end up making it a here and there thing. If you can't down the tea, then make capsules, I usually eat 10 or so capsules to get a nice relaxing buzz. I currently cannot drink the tea as it reminds me too much of poppy pods.

Remember that suboxone is just as evil as opiates, and in no way should just be switched out in place because you can now get a prescription for it. In many ways it is worse. I wish you great luck with your ending goal.

Sorry for my long ass rant, its been a very long time since I have been here, and I miss my long and helpful posts. This is more of a drunk ramble though. :-D Always nice to be back.

the trick with suboxone is you just have to get off them in 21 days. suboxone isn't like methadone its not meant for you to stay on them for a long long time, although the doctors will say it doesn't matter.

even though the suboxone is a partial opiate it still fakes the receptors like a really strong opiate and it prooves to be very, very sticky to those receptors. So if you stay on them along time its just as bad or worse than methadone.

Go on suboxone when you know your ready to give up the lifestyle completely and go on them for 21 days to minimize the withdrawl symptoms..

Thanks for all the input. I've read quite a bit about the suboxone withdrawals and it seems to have varied responses. I am supposed to be slowly tapered down over a long period of time so I can't imagine the withdrawals being to extreme though I could see the tiniest withdrawal leading to a relapse once the suboxone is gone.

Though I believe the point of suboxone on the long-term is that you turn your life around and move away from the opiate scene by the time you are taken off. I still find myself having a craving or two randomly but the suboxone stops me of course from acting on those cravings.

Methadone I have read to have even worse withdrawals then suboxone and I imagine it would be hard not to use the methadone for recreation once started. But I suppose you have to figure out what works for you the best.

My girl used subs for over a year. She is trying to stop taking them. Day 8 without them. I hope she feels better soon. She owes me a blowjob and I intend to collect.

You can see the tiniest wd leading to a relapse?

With dedication like that, you might as well go cop some dope right now.....

Day 8 without subs and i slept 8 hours last night... dont feel 100% but getting better. I think alot of the horror stories are from people jumping off at to high of a dose. I jumped at .25 mg and felt pretty shitty for seven days then tripped did .5mg and now its been 8 days since then and i don't plan on returning. I did a long slow taper and i feel pretty happy about the acute withdrawal so far. Nothing to unpleasant, just have to work out, eat better, and think positive. Im a firm believer in the long slow taper but then again i haven't done otherwise. I highly advise at not jumping off at any more than .5 mg a day. It will hurt, and it will linger! From all that ive read. Good luck be safe. :sunny:

Flyeyes, if you dont mind me asking, at what dose of Subs did you jump off from? Sounds like it was pretty brutal compared to some who jumped at low levels, 1mg/day or less. I may have to jump in 3-4 weeks and im not that low unfortunately....!

Damn, after reading about several who jumped off at higher doses, there is no way i can jump at 4mg/day. So, it will take a trip to FL to get another script (still under that Drs care until I find another), because there are no Sub Drs in the state who are taking new Patients, and my shrink has one in her practice, Guess i need to make her realize the fact that if I cant find another doc in next 2 -3 weeks, im screwed. It would be a point where should I get back on oxy just to be able to jump at a dose of oxy that ive jumped from before and deal with the mental issues afterward. I certainly can not get through 4 weeks of heavy withdrawals at one time, even though my shrink said she wouls script me whatever she could to help with withdrawals(unsure what meds shes referuing to)Fucking moving really acrewed the pooch for me, oh well, I will make it, of that I have no doubt!

I kind of meant that for anyone, It's a lot easier to relapse when you have even the littlest excuse. I've still been clean and taking my suboxone everyday. It annoys me when people think the only way to be clean is by acting a certain way and doing all these specific tasks. At least I am sober today.

Though it begins to worry me the more I read into it as suboxone is a lot more powerful then people make it out to be. Though it may not produce as profound of a high as full agonist opiates it's still very strong.

Bupenoriphine binds to the receptors so strongly that extreme doses of other opiates cant even get near the receptors for days. Not to mention how large your tolerance becomes while on it. I know 16mg a day is way to high even for myself and hope I can lower my daily dosage without any discomfort.

You can. Just go slow. Decrease in small increments over many months or yeats.
Each person reacts different. Do what feels comfortable for you.
