Would someone much more informed in chemistry than I be so kind to explain why dmt must be freebased to smoke? I was thinking that it might be possible to simmer a mimosa tea down to a very small amount, removing all of the sludge with egg whites and all, and then allowing the water to heat until its all evaporated. Then you would be left with a resin, right? So could you smoke that? Of course itd be quite impure, but wouldnt you get something off of it? Im sorry if this is a ridiculous question, I've never done any sort of dmt work, just quite a bit of research.
Mimosa has to be freebased, not yopo seeds. And I believe that's due to content, like mimosa's not as strong. I don't know if heat can destroy DMT, I'd suggest using Everclear. (pure, drinkable, 95-100 proof.)

Not lazy, just one with money constraints. And curiosity. Okay, maybe a little lazy. Just not in this case. The heat is not an issue, but I do know that dmt can degrade with direct contact to a flame. Maybe the degradation temperature being more than 212 F and less than the temperature of a flame. Everclear would evaporate faster and at room temperature, and I dont think it would cause the resin to consist of anything different. But that also means itd cost more money for the same product. But, would this even work? Would there be any noticeable effects?
I do want to do the regular ol extraction, but I planned on making mimosa tea first. If this would work, then I could do the tea and this side by side.
You're taking almost just as many steps to get it down to a resin as you would to extract it. It's a very simple process and the end result is so worth it. Some top shelf quality crystal. Probably won't ever find much better than what you can produce yourself.
DMT freebase vaporizes at a cooler temperature than the Fumarate or Hydrochloride forms because of its basic properties (i.e. higher PH). You can't smoke the acidic forms because the molecule is destroyed at the higher temps needed to vaporize the DMT in that form. It's the same principle with cocaine; The HCl form is eaten, snorted, injected. The freebase form is smoked. You will not get much from smoking mimosa tea solids.
What if I were to get the mimosa resin and then mix with sodium carbonate or calcium hydroxide? Im thinking about how you freebase yopo and virola.
