Is going to happen in the next few years in America, Canada, Britian etc? The antagonism between the increasingly tyrannical elites of the world and the growing dissendence felt in protests worldwide seems to be becoming steadily more volatile. What do you predict will happen? Civil war? Revolution? More oppression? Or a more fair, balanced society where we see power transferred from the corporate-government to the people? There are many people on these forums with extensive historical/political knowledge, so I would love to hear what people think!
All the speculation you can throw out the window, unless you get a majority of the population to join a revolt the only other way it will happem is that you will need the law enforcement and/or the military to want a revolution too. And being that they are being paid by the ones we need to toss out I say the chances are slim to none that anything will change.
So do you think the blanket of repression will simply grow tighter? What about the various leftists, protesters, Occupy, socialists, anarchists, milita movement, libertarians etc.?
The gooberment is trying to class many of these groups as "terrorists" so they can be dealt with harshly.
change happens, the deepening rifts and all that are changes themselves. nothing has always been any one way. oh sure, maybe for one or two lifetimes, just long enough for this to not be obvious to everyone, but that's really as long as anything ever stays any one way.
i live in mexico.....this is a very troubled country and there are few places in the world where the problems so evident and in your face as in this country.....my feeling is that the extreme right zelots are going to try and make most people out as criminals or terrorists as these people do not wish to look at their shaddow self and project it onto others in an attempt to reassure themselves that they are the chosen people....that being said....i think the way it will play out....is that it will be pull and push for the next 5 years at least.....but things will settle down into a more human orientated world...or well that is my hope.
what tyrs said, there will still be those people but not enough for a real change. government workers wont want to shake the boat, patriots act like their country can do no wrong, lots of people will be to busy with life to go out and demonstrate or protest, and many will be scared of getting pepper sprayed in the face. i dont know why you ask if the repression will grow tighter, it will seem that way to some it will seem like life is safer to others. but what i think is the gubernment will hang the carrot stick just far enough so enough people dont feel the need to pull a full on revolution. hell i know im a perfect example, i really would like to go protest and handcuff myself to the white house fence, but honestly as crooked as they are...my life is pretty good so why ruin it by going to jail causing me to maybe lose my job, getting raped, getting fined, getting pepper sprayed, getting put on a no fly list, and who knows what else. if things got so bad that i couldnt pay my bills you bet i would go monkey wrenching though.
There will be more controlled opposition with phony unrest and orchestrated protests. The powers that be need controlled outlets for people to channel their frustrations. This is how they prevent real uprisings -- ones in which they cannot control and steer -- from happening, so they give them OWS (or whatever happens to be the flavor of the week) to get behind while they parrot empty slogans thought up by some foundation funded think tank. So people will continue to protest and nothing will happen other than the continued decline of not only the US, but the entire developed world. If there is a revolution, it won't be grassroots. That is for certain. To me, the best gauge for real discontent would be if people simply stopped voting. This would send the message that people truly are fed up with having a non-choice between two corporate stooges that are controlled by the same hidden hand. The situation here and abroad is only going to get much, much worse over the coming years. People will lose more of their rights and freedoms to the police state, there will be massive unemployment, there will be an increase in racial tensions, a huge increase in violent and non-violent crimes, and overall people are going to have a lot less money and will thus be dependent on the state for their survival. What people need to realize is that everything that is happening is happening by complete design. The ultimate goal of the people who created this mess is total control. They know that to get the people to go along with what they have planned, they must first bring them to their knees.
