Anyone turned off by alot of the trip reports there? I feel like a lot of these people are either lying, or just down right insane. Reading a report about a dude who is always accompanied by a badger on all of his trips. This badger leads him through various psychedelic landscapes and always shows him what to do and what not to do. Its like this badger is this dudes spirit teacher, but hes not speaking metaphorically. He literally reports this badger just appearing and guiding him, during all his trips. So right now Im trying to read some ibogaine reports, but Im not learning a goddamn thing about it because, even though some of these reports are very articulate, and they sure paint a picture, I just cant beleive what some of these people are saying. Shit sounds like my idea of a datura trip if anything. I have never had an experience where MY BODY was in a completely different world and I could walk around freely and have multiple in depth conversations with "entitys". I have seen what I beleive people describe as entitys before but its nothing like one would think. Or nothing like some people on erowid describe them as.
I'm always skeptical about Erowid reports, but some of them are just downright amusing or interesting. Never read any of the iboga ones though... I saw this news report on TV where they were interviewing an opiate addict in an Iboga clinic in BC, and she seemed fine enough to talk about what was going on. She seemed quite incapacitated and ill for the first half though. Not sure of the clinical dosage as opposed to what people on Erowid are claiming to have taken though. Overall they made that psychedelic seem like a miracle (rare for the news networks). Mysterious plant though, I guess I'll have to try it for myself .
Prone - says it correctly! I feel that a lot of the reports on erowid were written by people who have never even seen, much less imbibed, the substance which they are speaking about. Erowid trip reports is just for the looky-loos and not for the serious. Sometimes they have some articles that are nice but for a lot of the trip reports they feature either crap writing or outlandish tales told by the boy who wishes in the future to take "x" substance, so instead he writes a 'truthful' report about 'the time when he actually did take x substance.' It would be really nice if erowid had a discussion after the trip reports, where people could say "this guy is full of shit" to prevent the wild overflow of misinformation. Wasn't erowid created with the mission to stop misinformation about mind-altering substances? [I might not have the wording correct] Yep its a load of crap. Sample 1: Cannabis experience vaults Who wants to read this? It's not an accurate representation of what cannabis does when a person smokes it. But I know plenty of people in real life who don't smoke on a regular basis [some who I believe they have never smoked] who speak of the 'weed trip' and the 'visions' they see on cannabis. Anyway you already know that there are just as many jokers and idiots on erowid writing trip reports as there are jokers and idiots at any other place on the web.
The Datura Erowid reports are awesome, they keep me so entertained and i don't even doubt many of them since Datura is a pretty fucked up drug
eh' it gives you a feel for some the substance you might wanna try,.. but I call BULLSHIT on many of them.
Whenever I go on Erowid, i tend to stay away from those reports. The information is good, but with a substance that provides a "trip", results vary widely.
I hate that they post "eye balled" dosed TR's. That's suggesting to people it's ok, and it's NOT. I don't really read them anymore. I know a few people on this board who has had some of their TR's posted, they were good.
Some of them are damn near useless. Substance unsure of, dosage eyeballed, mixed with 3 different things, while driving, sometimes goes on and on about what the person did during the experience rather than the effects of the substance . . . definitely need to keep a sharp eye. I read like 1/5 of reports as useful.
Erowid experience reports have taught me less about drugs and more about the stupidity of some people. Dosing 40mg of 2C-E in a shady area with people you don't know? Yeah no wonder you had a bad trip... Granted there are some excellent reports, you just have to look through some crap to find them.
Yeah this is where I am confused. I have spoken to numerous people in passing and what I gather Iboga is not all that "recreational", but now some of these reports are misleading now because they are describing something that sounds really awesome and fun. I dont base anything off that though, and I dont really plan on eatting any ibogaine any time soon lol. Its just very interesting some of the things that are coming up about it.
