Thanks , I'm thinking about giving it a week , this Saturday to call back and check to see if I was given thought.

I am a hiring manager and my advice to you is exactly the same as I'minmyunderwear's. But don't call, go in. We sometimes will write down the names of people who have called to check on an application, but I have never hired someone based on the fact that they called about a job. I have, however, hired based on the fact that they have popped in during a slow time to try to discuss possible employment. 2-3 is what I would suggest as well. Dress nicely but don't overdo it, you're going for a job at Pizza Hut, not a law firm. Not necessarily a dress, but don't go in your jeans and t-shirt with piercings out the wazoo and crazy hair or else they will give you the "We're not hiring at the moment, but we will keep you in mind!" spiel and then your application will go right in the trash the minute you walk out. And don't be afraid! Just hold your head high and go for it. And remember, most hiring managers work mostly day shifts, so don't expect to get any answers in the evening.

    Best of luck!

Ok. But I've got to admit , I've never went to a job I applied for to check up on an application. I've always thought that , that would be over-doing it. But since , you're a hiring manager and basically the walking-in chances are higher, I'm all play.
And when I go in ,
Do I just ask to speak to Manager about my application that I've already turned in ?
Like I just basically , set-up my own interview ?

Yes, be very polite to whoever you speak with and tell them you would like to speak to the manager. Then you introduce yourself to the manager and tell him/her that you are interested in a job and that you have applied and wanted to check up on it. Don't wait too long to do it, either, sometimes applications can get lost in the shuffle after a few days, especially if the manager isn't the most organized person in the world. It won't necessarily be an interview, it could turn into one, it might not. Popping in a couple of times a week isn't overdoing it, calling to check every single day for weeks is. The manager should take it from there once you announce you are there about a job. If they are interested, they will ask you some questions. Don't be disappointed if they turn you down, it doesn't mean flat out no, it just means not right now. Don't take that as a rejection, take that as more fuel to continue taking initiative and checking once or twice a week. I am not representative of all hiring managers by any means, but I have also worked alongside a lot of hiring managers, and almost all of them were impressed with an applicant taking initiative to get the ball rolling.

you and i have differing definitions of "a lot." i didn't see a single post that said if they don't call right away they aren't interested, and i saw only two that said they would necessarily call at all.

Thanks , this Saturday , I'm going up there.
I like all of the points you mentioned.
I want them to know that I'm serious
    about getting that job.
    It's seriously my last hope.
    And even when you're doing a walk-in , I want to be sure that 2-3 ish is a good-time to go in , it's not just a good-time for a check-up over the phone ?

assuming you're still talking about a pizza place, then yes, 2-3 is the best time to go in.

lode is too busy traveling the world to understand local pizza; pizza hut's still doing their lunch buffet at 1:30.
