His beating at the hands of the LAPD and their subsequent NOT GUILTY verdict triggered the LA Riots

Those were good times back in early 90s :2thumbsup:

His sacrifice and beating at the hands of the LAPD ushered in a new era for the police department and paved the way for the first black LAPD police chief :2thumbsup:

    his sacrifice??? :smilielol5:

Rodney King was a low life piece-o'-shit criminal his entire life, before and after his beating. He wasn't some fucking civil rights hero, he was an asshole who ran from the police and took them on a high speed pursuit through crowded streets.
When he finally stopped, he got a beating.
Far from an innocent sacrificial lamb.

Does that justify his getting beaten like he did? Hell no!
Does that excuse incorrect verdict by a bias jury in the criminal trial of the officers involved? Hell no!
Yes, it did result in much needed reform in the LAPD's policies and practice's.

But, seriously, lets not treat the asshole like he's on par with Martin Luther King Jr.

When he stood before the tv cameras as los angeles was burning it was his voice, his clarion call to stop the violence and looting which most resonated among his fellow angelians.

When he did that he became more than a man, more than a career criminal high on PCP, he became a nation and a symbol of hope in our long struggle for civil rights [IMG]

Actually if the ignorant fuck would have just stopped for the traffic violation instead of running, there never would have been any fucking riots in the first place. Trying to make him into some martyr/saint after he was the fuck-tard that started the entire mess is really rather ignorant on your part, Hotwater.

You really need too pull your head out of the racially blind and bigoted hole it seems to be stuck in.
The only thing you seem to see is the color of the skin rather than the character of the man.

    whatever.

He was beat by police officers. Someone recorded it. you could just as easily blame the person who recorded it.

I'm not saying Rodney's a martyr, but he shouldn't be brushed aside like a Joey Buttafuko or Loranna Bobbit either.

Uhmm, no, you couldn't. The person who recorded it did not instigate the whole situation like King did.
C'mon, Lodog, your smarter than that.

I confuse all the Taylor people. Taylor Swift, Taylor Momsen, Taylor Lautner, i'm sure there are more. i know at least one of them is a female singer.

well luckily for me the only one out all those three ive ever heard of is taylor swift.
Dont know what she does though. I'm guessing she's a country signer. I could check on google but guessing is more fun.
