I'm going to Madison later today and my favorite little handmade soap shop is there, was going to pick up some patchouli essential oil and was wondering how safe the soap would be for my dreads.

Ingredients: Organic Palm Oil, Olive, Coconut, and Rice Bran Oils, Patchouli Essential Oil, Patchouli Herb, Rosemary Oleoresin.

    What do you guys think?

Patchouli is overplayed and only smells good occasionally and when it's very faint. It's also the probable fuckin' cause scent.

As for dread health, I wouldn't use all that palm/coconut oil on MY locks. But I also don't use soap on the regular, and when I do, it's dr. bronners magic soap or vinegar/baking soda.

yeah, although it sounds naturally wonderful all the oils may not be good for any hair type! I bet it'd be great on the skin though.

I decided against it. I did get the patchouli soap (not for the dreads) but I bought some lavender spray from the same place. Hair, body, linen spray. Ingredients: Lavender essential oil & water. I'll continue to wash my hair as I usually do and have the lavender spray for when I wanna smell super good!
