Nowadays we have an Occupy Movement, protests against war in Afghanistan. Does it similar to the sixties, protests against Vietnam War, Yippies?
He's from the Ukraine, I'm sure English isn't his first language... I think the question is are we seeing similarities between what's going on now and what happened in the 60's.
Similarities? Yes. But nothing like the Occupy Movement has ever accured before. And Afghanistan is like Vietnam, in that it will prove to be a total waste. River 1509, the 60's were unique. And the social and cultural forces that combined to create that memorable era will never be duplicated.
there are a few similarities An unpopular president-W An unpopular war a number of human rights issues a few new twists include a brutal economy impacting jobless youth the aging of a large section of the working economy which should start creating a lot of jobs Absolutely crappy fm music the internet and all of its toys the sixties were a unique melding of a number of social storms
There are similarities to the 60s, but on a smaller scale. As long as they don't bring back the draft it will stay smaller.
Isn't all a cure and vaccine for aids/hiv would be needed. The breaking down of social and racial barriars thanks to advances in birth control and the advent of 'free love' threatened the'establishment' as much as lsd did/does.
Too many people on this planet, with too many religions, WAY too much greed, not enough food and water, and not near enough intelligence and/or empathy. The extraterrestrials who've been watching us forever must be wondering. I sure a hell am.
