I gotta know this Because my doc gives me IB 800s religiously and it obviously isnt what I want or need. Any tips tricks and whatever please let me know all and any help is appreciated.
Well, it's not easy. It took me a spinal fusion and a diagnosis of degenerative disc disease. Different people have different stories, of course. Most of them (if not all) would probably tell you that they would rather be pain free than have the meds. As for tips or tricks, I don't know. You didn't mention what your condition is. It would have to warrant a prescription for opiods, at least in a doctor's eyes. Any kind of medical evidence, including MRI's, CT scan's, X-rays, etc. would be a plus. And when you see a doctor and he asks you to rate your pain, don't say a 10, because you'd be screaming if that were true. A little exaggeration is ok, just don't overdo it.
Go to a pain doctor. They are able to write scripts that a general practitioner is reluctant to write.
Lots of people are junkies just look for a fix and lie to get the meds they want. But for those of us with real pain..it's not hard. My previous back surgery at age 18 was doing well up until now...but now i am on some meds and getting an epidural steroid injection here soon I hope you're not a junkie just looking for pills
My biggest problem is knees. I have some prescriptions for some medications but he also wanted to do Coritsone injections. I would have gladly but I have no insurance and the cost is $517.00 Just write more scripts for me, Doc.
Cortisone didn't do squat for my knees, I got two rounds of shots about a month apart and I was on steroids at the time and it didn't do anything. Maybe you would be different if you could get them, but for severe damage they really don't do much. Of course Opiates don't do shit either... Fucked up and in pain is not a good time. And there ain't nobody gonna burn my nerves either.
I've had them before but that was about 4 years ago. They helped then but I don't know if they would now. I was participating in a series of knee injections called "Supartz". That was made from rooster comb. I had six shots in one knee, a week apart each. Then did the other knee. I can't remember how long I was supposed to wait to start the series again. I lost my insurance before I could do anymore. I don't think they helped like the Cortisone injections did. What I really am going to need is knee replacement. Don't know that I will ever get it though.
hey Brady, can i ask what you've been diagnosed with? back surgery at 18?? damn.. i've had chronic pain since i was 19- i have scoliosis, winging scapula, TMJ, and my lower spine/pelvis are outta place..
That's the truth. Back in '97 I slipped on some ice and banged up my knee. It wasn't even what you'd call a serious injury, but damn did that hurt. To put my socks on I would have to lay on the floor on my back and pull my socks on with mechanics mechanical fingers. And putting my pants on sucked too. Every time my foot would snag a little bit sliding them on was pure agony. Hydrocodone helped some but the thing that really helped was ice and this super-powerful anti-inflammatory med called Indomethacin. Shit, 2 50mg pills of that stuff would put me to sleep. When I see tv shows or movies where people get shot in the kneecaps I can barely watch it.
I herniated a disk bad back then...now i have have bad scar tissue around the nerve. Getting a series of epidural steroid injection here soon
