So, I've got some dark jeans (not black, not grey, just dark) with a big ugly hole right over the lower half of the butt. I've decided not to patch them, but to make something cool out of them. Any ideas on what my jeans should become? My brother liked the idea of a headband or armbands.
Armbands and stuff would be cool. I've been wanting to try to sew together some striped pants, so maybe you could do that? Alternate different color pants or different washes to get really groovy striped pants. Use a different top part so you have the whole butt in place
Cut off the legs and use the top portion for a messenger bag, sewing the bottom shut and make a strap to sew on out of part of the legs.
My sister had, maybe still has, a really cool pillow made out of the top part of a pair of well used and patched jeans. Pockets and all. It was made for use in her old VW bug because they had crap for seat height adjustment... would be good as a throw pillow on the couch or behind your back in your favorite chair.
Aerianne, I had never thought of that. I like the idea of a messenger bag. I will post a picture of my finished product when I can. Thanks for all your responses!
I had a friend who made a Crazy Quilt with old jeans. She used pockets and unique details of the jeans as design. It was magnificent. I made a couple patchwork pillows using old jeans and augmented with embroidery.
