From what I know about Dissociative Identity Disorder the personality or psyche "breaks" or "splits" (hence the previous name of 'Multiple Personality Disorder'). This split is caused usually by experiencing a tragic event such as abuse or witnessing a parent doing something horrible. In most cases this event has to prohibit the child from being able to attach to the caregiver, thus the personality splits and they dissociate. I have dissociative tendencies but I've never seen someone be able to just "switch" like that. Any dissociative states I have ever encountered have been triggered by either an inability to accept something (such as my best friend dying) or some sort of flashback. It is a scary thing. I am unable to remember what happened before and during each "dissociative state". I have not shown different personalities though. In order for it to be diagnosed as Disociative Identity Disorder (which is one of many dissociative disorders) the personalities must exhibit completely different mannerisms, ways of perceiving things, and interactions with people and reality. In almost all cases the personalities are unaware of each other and becoming aware of each other can cause another break or splitting of the mind.
And a little off topic, this looks and sounds exactly like a lady in an older video where they gave her LSD and asked her to describe it as she was tripping.
