I've seen ads from this company called Western Sky that offers quick loans. But they charge something like 160% interest. They get away with it because the company is on an indian reservation.

A lot will depend on your priors- -and thank your parents .
They can stop enabling you after the court date, but for now having a 10,000$$ mouthpiece can keep you on the outside-

Don't make excuses that you can't find a job in this economy. Go to CVS..go to Walmart...go door to door. Do work for a hotel cleaning rooms. There are jobs out there..you have to look hard and long. Looking for a job is a full time job its self. if you aren't spending 20 hours a week trying to find something...then you don't give a shit

Hey, I just thought of a way you can beat this rap!

Tell your lawyer to request the stolen item be weighed, and the actual value of the item be determined by it's gold value alone.

With the markups they charge in jewelry stores (I've already mentioned this earlier), it's actual value is far less than the price they put on it. You can probably get the charge reduced if the value falls below a certain threshold. If they were charging $750 for the item, it's gold value (and wholesale value) is probably less than $250. In fact, get the jeweler to produce his wholesale receipt for the item, and that is the actual loss to the jeweler, not the retail value.

Thanks for the update. So what does this mean in terms of any jail/prison time? Are you not going to have to do any? Is the 200-1000 in terms of money needed to be given to the state?
