Do you guys prefer suboxone or regular opiates (vics, roxys, oxys, perks, opana?)
Also compared to methadone what's your guy's thoughts.

Me personally suboxone makes me kinda sick , but keeps me FUCKED up for hours, long term it makes me really aggravated.

    So , I'd prefer Perks , methadone & norcs over subs :p

Where as my dad loves his subs, unless he's got his loritabs / opanas.

I don't know anyone who prefers Suboxone over full agonist opioids. The simple reason is that it has a ceiling dose, at which dosing higher won't get you higher. And the ceiling dose, 6 mg, is equivalent to about 80 mg of Oxycodone. So any opioid user with a tolerance greater than that will never find Suboxone as "good" as full agonist opioids.

However, for those without tolerance, perhaps it is attractive for abuse. It offers a very nice "glow" IMO as well as having the attractive feature that if you are nodding relatively hard on it, you can usually jump right up and go back to a "normal" activity without feeling fuzzy or anything.

As said above, suboxone would be preferable for those without any real opiate tolerance. It can keep you high for the entire day, unlike the ephemeral high of most full agonists that only stick around for a few hours at best. Over a year ago before I got on the maintenance program and was still occasionally using suboxone to get high, the long duration was what I loved about it. Also how potent it is by weight despite it being a partial agonist.

The biggest problem with buprenorphine from a recreational standpoint is that it's fairly self-limiting in that regard. Tolerance builds quickly with all opiates, but if you continuously take high doses of sub the euphoria dries up in no time.

That's describes how it's always been for me, because I never used it without even a moderate tolerance. But when I give even 2 mg to friends who have no tolerance whatsoever they usually go into a heavy, incapacitated nod. One friend in particular was concerned he'd lose his job because he took 1 1/2 mg at work, and despite downing tons of coffee he was clearly wiped out.

@chaos , yeah my first time taking one I had no opiate tolerance & ate a full one went to gamestop a threw up, i got home and three days ina row, but after building my tolerance I preferd my loritabs & perks over subs but when i got some 7.5s i traded em to my pops for subs.

@etkearne you really know your shit I didn't know it want a full on ataganist.

Yes. This is the main reason I have never allowed myself to take more than 4 mg per day, since the ceiling dose is right around 4-6 mg and all.

Recreational SUB use is crazy for a few reason's, $$$ being one of them. Name one drug used for it's opiate effect that raises tolerance faster, outside of Methadone, there aren't many. With Sub's 6mg ceiling, it wouldn't take very long to reach it, and when one does, what does he/she do, jump straight to a 100+mg Oxy habit to keep some sort of euphoria going and we know where that leads. If I had chosen Sub's as my DOC with no tolerance, I'd start at .25 to .5mg doses equivalent to around 7-15mgs Oxy. Like ETK said, once your tolerance reaches just under 100mgs of Oxy, your SUB train is over for a while seeing as the half life of Sub's is huge! After jumping from just below 1mg/day, the mild withdrawals were still absolutely there, imagine jumping from 4-6mgs/day of SUB's, make an 150-200mg Oxy withdrawal seem like a walk in the park, depending on term of use. If there was ever a drug that will 100% make someone jump to something harder, SUB's is it!

In times where I didn't feel like getting dope or was too lazy/broke I've used subs. They do give a euphoria if you have little or no tolerance. Throw in a benzo for some sedation and you got a half-assed opiate high. Of course it's very dangerous mixing opiates and BENZOS. DON'T DO IT!

Also, is it just me or is a high from subs very unique. It feels to me like being high and not high at the same time. Maybe it's just in my head though since I'm thinking about the nalaxone element.

Can anyone who has been on or around people with suboxone maintenance answer this question? What would a doctor do in the case of a patient who abuses suboxone? IE: spacing out doses, IVing pills? Someone on methadone maintenance once told me when you test positive for heroin they just raise your methadone dosage. If methadone and suboxone can't prevent all people from abuse are there any cases in the states of just giving morphine, etc?
