Its not a hidden fact Obama smoked in high school, in fact he was a pretty serious stoner (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/05/obama-and-his-pot-smoking-choom-gang/)

When obama was elected to office he didn't fight for the herb he so loved in high school but promised to call off the federal prosecutors in states that had legalized weed for the sick.

Two years later, the Obama Administration is cracking down on medical marijuana dispensaries and growers just as harshly as the Administration of George W. Bush did.

I know that hypocrisy, demagogy, and just plain stupidity are rampant in politics but a stoner turned president who cracks down on sick people using the same plant he used recreationally in high-school? Its just mind blowing.

The president is just a PR person for the rest of the govts. organizations and banks+corporations...i really don't think they get that much say in this day and age.

I'm not 100% up to speed on US politics but don't you have to be registered to the party you vote for? If so doesn't that make the whole electoral system totally rigged? IF everyone is already registered to one of two parties then they already know the outcome of every election. Or do you just register for one of the parties and vote for a specifici candidate within one of those parties?

You have to be a member of a party to vote in primary's. Basically the election within the party to decide who will run on behalf of the party.

But you can vote for whoever regardless of your party in the presidential election. Allot of people do not even have one declared.

i like this article.. maybe ill be pres-dident some day! obama seems like a bit of a dick when it comes to pot tho. all this stealing extra hits and skipping people in rotation? lil weed nazi if you ask me..

anyhow, obama seriously needs to pull the feds off the dispensaries.. seems pretty ridiculous when he came out pro marijuana like Delta-9 said. maybe it will get better after the election?

No Obama will not get better if he is re-elected. By giving him another 4 years he will destroy our lives and vaporize what little rights we still have. He we have no regard to public opinion at that point he is locked in his final term and the hope and change he promised will be a doomsday for the U.S. Sad to say it but Romney is the same path just a different suit. You want change and transperancy in goverment than vote for Johnson since Ron Paul has yet to declare as Independant. Try a truely new flavor and tell the two parties you've had enough of the status quo of Democrats and Republicans ruining our lives and freedoms by being show ponies for corporate america. The choice is yours!

I can understand where Obama is coming from.

I mean, legalize marijuana in the states and then all of a sudden it will be completely full of fuckwits, even more so than now. Walmart photos would become even trashier, I'd hate to see an episode of Cops. Y'all already look terrible because of these shows and websites.
Obese country doesn't need the munchies.

Legalizing marijuana isn't going to help your look.

There are so many jobs tied into the busting weed industry that if he scaled it back unemployment would go up another 1%

Since some people get all their information on what Americans are like fron t.v. and social media should we do the same i.e all Germans eat viener schnitzel and drink beer everyday? No I think not. Should we keep locking up 800,000 k people a year for pot charges and further ruining theis lives with criminal records following them for ever? No I think not. You say that it would bring up the unemployment rate. I disagree! It would add more jobs and an industrial applications for mj. It would free up an already over burdened Justice system to allow for real criminals to be prosecuted. Freeing police from worthless arrests and focusing on murderers, rapists, pedos REAL CRIME! Not possesion and consumption. Yes We should all just smoke a bong and learn to live in harmony. Peace and Prosperity to all!

    Depends on the state.

In mine, you don't have to register for anything, but you can only vote in one primary, so they keep track of which one you do.

It makes the race more interesting, and closer, really. For instance, if you wanted McCain to win the general election, you'd have to decide between voting for your candidate on your primary, or the weaker candidate (Hillary) in THEIR primary.

Depends on the state.. Some states hold Open Primaries.. In which you can vote for whomever no matter what party they are with.. Closed Primaries allow you to only vote within your party
