    Hi!

Okay I had a really strange experience the other morning, I had woken up and was trying to get back to sleep. BAM!!! All of a sudden I had a high pitched ringing in my ears, everything was vibrating I couldn't move at all like i was paralysed and in my minds eye I was going down what can only be described as time warp tunnel or wormhole or something!!! The feeling got more and more intense and I started to go down this time warp thing faster and faster!!! it was a scary Experience, I didn't know what the Fu*k was going :( on but I eventually forced my self out of it!

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there a name for it? Was I travelling to another dimension? Was my brain playing tricks on me or was it not following it's sleeping procedures correctly? Any help would be great!!

    SS

have you had any traumatic experiences in your life? Sounds like it could be a flashback of some sort.

Unless you've been taking some serious drugs...that could definitely cause some crazy things to happen

I have experinced similer things. Though in my perspective when something like this happens to me its more or less a acid flashback or just being really drunk or stoned while also being deprived of sleep haha.

I've felt the room spin at uncomfortable levels while trying to meditate. To the point where I felt like falling over.

This has happened during periods of very poor sleep quality. Could be to blame.

If the experience was as intense as described I would talk to a doctor about it.

Sounds like sleep paralysis. Its awesome that you did it by accident. I'm always trying to induce myself in to it. You can use it for OBE's and lucid dreaming. I usually set an alarm for around 5 hours after going to sleep. Wake up for about 30 mins and go back to sleep on my back. 9/10 times I experience the same thing you have just described. Don't fight it! You should find yourself either floating up from you're body or in some insane dream world where you are god!

Lucid dreaming is perfectly healthy. Research it! :2thumbsup:

Walk into a public men's room and stand at the urinal. From there, you go to a dark alcove, and when you turn around, you're bathed in very bright light. You see people you knew, then realize you're lying on a very hard, cold floor and your head is throbbing. You open your eyes and see a cop bending down over you, and another cop is opening the door for the ambulance attendants to bring in the stretcher.

You later find out that the cop had been giving you CPR for nearly 15 minutes, and was ready to give up on you before he got life-signs back. But, you have a vivid memory of another place.

I had the same problem. Sleep paralysis if you just stay calm and understand they aren't real or anything they go away.

I know exactly what you mean. Its similar to a speed rush - infact you actually hear a ruhing sound in your ears and you feel like you are tumbling through space.
I used to have stuff like that happen a lot but lately i am getting a wierd thing happen where its like my brain was being shocked electrically for a second or so and happens when i have been at my computer all day and am tired. Just after i put my head on the pillow i get this huge sort of electrical pulse in my brain that is actually horrible i hate it. I think its similar to a kind of epilepsy. It just happens once but it feels terrible and i am afraid of it happening

So tinnitus and dizziness? Yes, this happened to me. For me it was called labyrinthitis. I've heard the same symptoms occur with meniere's disease. A course of antibiotics and sedatives are clearing it right up as I type.

Not being able to move? Sounds like sleep paralysis. In seriousness, this sounds like the most likely culprit from the very little information you've given, assuming your bloodstream was free of drugs or alcohol. The "time warp" deal would be the dream or hallucination state while your body couldn't move.

See a doctor to rule out other physical or mental causes.

Sleep paralysis. Scariest thing ever. Whenever that happens to me, I can't sleep for like a week.
