there is more to life than just a natural purpose. yesterday i got a fortune that said 'simplicity of mind comes with extensive profound thought' :daisy:
I'm thinking now. It's weird. Plus, the rule "i before e, except after c" doesn't hold true for "weird". Aren't rules supposed to mean anything, anyways? And how about the river "Seine"? If you jump in the river, are you "In Seine"?
Rules are for the people who need them. this translates to spelling and life. Common sense is pretty rare but I've found my fair share. No ones smart enough to keep up they just Fuck shit up
What exactly do you mean by "natural purpose"? Simplicity can help you clear your mind. Simplicity of mind is something you don't necessarily want.
Natural purpose... Eat. Play.reproduce. repeat And simplicity achieved by profound thought seems to be less simple than initially thought.
I'm not a big fan of any sentence that begins with "People" or that contains "nowaday" in it. It's usually followed by a big generalization of a specific/important topic. for example, i cannot hear the overused sentence "people are so dumb nowadays" without raising my eyebrows. I'm a great admirer of Flaubert (a french author of the 19th century) and he spent his life denouncing dumb people/simple minds/the use of cliche, etc... They were always people who used their brains, and people who didn't. However, I totally agree that certains periods in certains places were more intellectualy stimulating. But, please, this defeatist vision of the humans is sad and broadly exagerated- if only we could TRUST each other.
I am generally guilty of making generalizations. Im no good at being specific. Anyway. I don't think we can denounce those who are less intelligent, less aware, less anything. because i believe in balance.
And 'people nowadays seem to believe we have a purpose other than a natural one' seems very true to me. Nowadays is entirely relative to what each person may think. I'm thinking civilization as we know it is overkill. And people do think that we have a profound meaning. I think our existence is profound in its own right. But why constantly question the purpose of life? Cognitive thought is meant for thinking, not a lack of. But without the nonthinkers, the thoughts of the thinkers would be less significant. Ah thinking myself in circles.
I actually never considered that. It's quiet brilliant! I'm gonna have to think it through- maybe the whole notion of a purpose is a mistake?
Ooo a good warning. And I think you may be correct. The purpose of living is to live. To experience as only we can experience, to do as only we can.
Only one of those is a "purpose". One is a necessity. One doesn't mean much. High horse ---> long fall ---> hard impact You can only make that statement for yourself. Only YOU can give a purpose to YOUR life. There is no "general purpose" or "sense".
