My ex from 20+ years ago sent me an email today. I have not responded. We have kinda been in contact but most recently when my second parent died some 15 months ago. How do you feel about people contacting you 'out of the blue'?
not if Im in another relationship, I dont see the point. being friends and not killing each other is one thing. staying in touch for no reason is bullshit..
Some people latter on in life want to mend the fences that they tore up. I realize now more than I did when I was young that it is more important for me to try to make things right. I am not sure that is what he is doing or not. Or it could be you are just to Damn Sexy!
I have had exes contact me just to see how I was and what was new with me. However, conversation usually turns into some fucked up walk down memory lane and thoughts of what could have been... it's better to just leave the past in the past - IMHO.
I think that some people can move on and be friends, and that's a beautiful thing. usually though, there is some baggage from the relationship that is still there, thoughts of getting back together or old resentments You will have a much better idea what this guy's motives are than we do. So knowing what type of guy he is, what could it be? Nostalgic memories and a desire to be closer? What makes you so sure he doesn't want you back?

it depends. my ex's are all liars cheaters back stabbers and bullies. i've been dumped for 'friends' for taking drugs or simply because someone better came along. i've been with girls who i'm sure just didn't even like me. and then - after being bullied and abused i am chastised for all of the above myself. plus when you're in a new relationship why would you ever want to even think about the past when you have the future to look forward to? but this is my life.
