for a long time now it has always bothered me that film has portrayed trans people in a negative light...think Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb from silence of the lambs but sometimes trans people are part of a narrative and not particularly fucked up or evil, just another character...this is a good thing i would like to start a list, aided by you good folk, of movies/characters that have trans people in them but accepted for who they are i'll start with Geisha Seitaro 'Osei' Naruto from the awesome movie "Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman"
The World According to Garp In this film, the character Roberta Muldoon (played by John Lithgow in an Oscar-nominated role) is a transsexual former football player. I just remember he was sweet. It's been a longtime but that always stuck with me!
