Almost the same scenario happened to a friend of mine a couple yrs back, and she was the one with all the bruises and assualt...the cops treated her like shit, even calling her a slut and stuff... so the next day i made her go to the cop station with me, and a police officer photographed the bruises all over her... the cops who had arrested her were trying to charge her with serious assault to a police officer..i think for resisting arrest... but we went to a different court in a different city and she pleaded guilty then innocent then guilty, and the jusdge felt so sorry for her she didnt have to pay any fines or anything - the pigs were trying to get about $800 compensation each out of it..they are assholes...but they got exactly what they deserved - nothing.

 

are you of small frame? that helps because then you look less able to do damage to someone else... and at court make sure you look all innocent and scared

well youre charged with a felony you'll have a couple of days in court, you have time to find a lawyer.and please ignore the thoughtful soul who told you not to sell your car, because if the cop has it out for you; then you really, really do need a lawyer.fuck a car, ever done time? mostly when its your first offense(hope it is), and they try to charge you with a felony, it will get knocked down to a misdimeanor..any half way decent lawyer accomplishes this every week day/day in court.but please get a lawyer that gives a fuck.some like to get people screwed.they probably go out with their friends and joke about it.......anyway, if this isnt a pathetic attempt to scrounge up money from good people, which i believe this is(sorry i do) then good luck.and dont kick anymore cops in the balls.they dont like that type of shit.and theyre not here to uphold the law; they believe they are the law.it's not about love and country etc..

 

Interval I hope with all my heart that this is really your bottom.....most have to hit it before they can claw back up.

My gut instinct is that it is not as you are still trying to throw blame at everyone else....
.you fought in a bar and left
.you were drinking enough to allow yourself to get in a brawl
.the police show up after and you wonder what they are arresting you for
.you then say you did not have intent
.the moment you mouthed off let alone moved a body part, it is resisting arrest
.you already were brawling and wonder why they showed up with an attitude of wary,
the list is endless.
.you are already looking for a way out of the charge


Think bottom is still to come. I hope you live long enough to find it and crawl back up.

Just read this... I think it sucks that you had to get to this point Interval. I can't say that I didn't see something like this coming, though.

I can't/won't send money - it wouldn't do any good anyway, you have an obvious problem with alcohol (and probably a few other things) and more money won't get you over that - you might even have yourself convinced that you would use the money for legal fees, right now, but when the money is in your grasp, you will spend it wrongly.

In any case, a public defender will plea bargain you down to a misdemeanor and hopefully the judge will add rehab to your sentence, which the state will then help to pay for, I think - so this may actually be a good thing for you (hard as that is to believe). The money is a hole you will have to work hard to climb out of, but once you have cleaned up, I think you will be able to do that. You are young and you have a long life ahead of you... we gain wisdom by learning from our mistakes. Those of us who make a lot of mistakes early in life and actually learn from them end up much better off for it in the long run (I did, anyway). I hope you can do the same.

 

Trish, I love you. You're a wonderful person... WHen you are sober. I'm sorry to say this but you need help. This alcoholism is not going to end. It is going to get worse and you are allowing it. We have talked quite a few times and I get the feeling that you know you have a problem but you do not want to face it. Now you see what alcohol does to you. Now it may be giving you some jail time. What's next?

Let me tell you this. You will end up even worse than where you are now. Keep drinking, things will get worse for you. I met you a couple of years ago and I watched this smart girl drinking herself to the bottom.

To be honest with you, I would suggest nobody help you out this time. You have to push yourself to get help. That means get yourself in a rehab centre and pronto. Accept your own responsibilities and accept that you fucked up and do something to try to fix the situation. I used blame everything on everyone. It was never poor me fault. But after lots of hard lessons, I realized that my actions always have consequences. I now know that the choices I make are mine only. Nobody forced me to make those choices. Like you choose to drink. It is your own fault that you had a run in with the cops. Not theirs. You got yourself drunk (your choice) and the consequence was that those cops became involved and people got hurt. (consequence) Now you have to really really think about how to make this situation better for yourself. Like accepting responsibility for your own choices.

I am going to be honest with you. Your best bet is to check in a rehab centre and clean yourself up. Get a lawyer and discuss your choices with a counsellor to help you out.

I have said what I need to say. The rest is up to you. If you want the best for yourself, you know what you need to do. I am not going to help you pay for a lawyer. I love you and this is the best thing I can do for you.

 

.......I'll spare us both the hassle of pissing you off with an "I told you so" speech, but I've seen something like this coming for a long, long time. I just figured it'd be a DWI. Kicking the officer in the groin, and you've got previous felonies? Trish........ I don't know what to say. I'm sorry they treated you so roughly, but make sure to get pictures. lots of pictures. every bruise and scrape from every angle. You'll need it. If you're lucky them beating some sense into you(if you infact kicked him), might be enough to get a couple charges dropped. Best of luck, as always.

yes....nearly all on here are right..and she knows it...these things have been said time and time to her and all she does it get pissed at the person who is coming to her with sympathy and care in their hearts, but she doesnt like the things said to her because it makes her face her...
perhaps this time will be different, but i dont know that it is...
