Because for every serious topic that comes up about fixing humanity's problems with hallucinogens or the therapeutic use of the LSD there are 50 topics about the awesomeness of glowsticks or the best Phish song to listen on shrooms.

It gives the impression trippers (and hip-forum users) are brainfried losers who take LSD to see swirly lights instead of exploring the universe and it's these people who are replacing the McKennas and Learys and Alperts and Hoffmans who took the drug's potential seriously.

Hey man, theres no reason to put down this subject of conversation just because its not the most important topic that we could be discussing. Theres no reason why a group of people cant converse about less important topics, but still be interested in those more important ones. I think we do a really good job here of representing a community that is interested in the exploration of the mind. You can't expect every thread to be of great importance. Also, theres a legitimate purpose for having a name for things. It might simply be easier to say "i hippy tripped the other night" than to say "i ingested lysergic acid diethylamide in conjunction with psylocibin mushrooms the other night" you know?

I know. I wouldn't have any issues with these threads if they didn't outnumber the serious ones so very much. If you're discussing one thing you can't discuss another, and while you could be learning about important things instead you're taking the drug as some sort of joke, a mere instrument for chuckling at silly youtube videos and making retarded threads like this.

I just posted that as an example. I'm to blame as well, no doubt. Everyone can do more to expand their mind than what they're doing. There's no excuse for doing the minimum.
