Church of the Good Earth 1963 and Beyond

That is an open invitation to the ones that care and want to be a family.

 

This is what my higherself is telling me.

Let's start June off with a brand new vib. One of Love and Understanding. Let us fill our Spirits with the Joy of Life and spread this Joy world wide.

Let us become what we seek. Let us bring Peace and Unity into Our House. Let us strive for a bright right Now and feed our energies into The Good Wolf.

Let us stand together on the mountain and look above the scatter elements below. Let us breath a fresh breath of solidarity and trust.

Let us keep the good and the bad in balance so we will know the difference and be compassionate in our judgements.

Lets us lay behind us any feelings of dis comfort and lean on each others strenght.

Let us build up rather than tear down so we may flourish in our growth and wisdom.

Let us seek to explore the universe of US and make it something as sacred as a lost tribe finding their home.

Let us fill our table with honor and courage where no man/woman is unequal to the next. Where we talk of old times and the new times to come.

Let us plan our lives and focus on what benefits the Family in a whole. Not to interfere/over ride with an individuel's personal life/family but to enhance it.

Let us be open to all these things and bring back what has kept us alive and kickin' in our Spirits and fill our hearts with all the love and even the tears of our reunion.

We must keep the candle lit for the ones arriving. We do not want them to walk in, in the midst of chaos. That is not our purpose and we shall not give in to it.

We must, if we intend to succeed, pull together and apply the best positive energy into our projects, like for instance, The Book. The Museum, The Hippie Retreat, keeping the fire lit with conversation and support.

If we can manifest this we will have accomplished what we were sent to do. We will have fulfilled our destiny in our Spiritual consciousness and have completed the circle which we are all apart of.

Bright Blessing on our endeavor, may longevity and wisdom guide us and protect us on our quest.

As it leaves my lips may the blessings be sent. With love in the most Perfect Way.

Hey my dear friends,, making progress over here,, slowly but surely... Got my license back after many months... Looking for work and sleeping where ever the god lord puts me. Someone please tell chris/Wah to e-mail me. No phone.. I'am going to burn sum smudge sage and fan it towards all of you. All the bad feelings will turn to joy. Hmmmmm smells so good....!!! I wood like to take this oppurtunity to thank Mary and Kenny for all the work they've done on OUR book and for this family....!!!!! No.1 Spud has not left the family. He is just cooling out. I spoke to him on the phone and he's cool. he's been thru a lot lately and the blowup wore him out.
No2. Sometimes it takes a while to make peace and make us stronger. Thingsdgot out of hand on everybody's part and all I want to do is first bring calm and then keep it peaceful. While these are getting to be hard times, they are not like the times we had before with cops, feds, thugs etc. at our doors. it seems to me that a lot of people are reacting like it was still 1972 and that has caused an escalation of what was really a tempest in a teapot. Stop, sit back and wait. Look how we all thought Cyril's daughter was a scam and then found out she wasn't.
Kenny and Nails you have a right to be angry but how angry and for how long is a`\question you have to answer. I haven't had a chance to talk or message Saro/Queenie as of yet but I will and I will report back to you when I have. I'm sure she thinks she has just as much right to feel angry. However, If she can't cool it and accept that she has to give those of the family who don't know her time to feel her out then so be it and we will vote her out of the family. Anybody disagree let me know.

No.3. AC stop pouting. We`are an evolvingfamily. We can't be the same as we were 40 years ago. (Thank G-d). It's gonna take time for all of us fit together again. It would be nice for us not to make the same mistakes all over again. Taking your ball and going home ain't going to help. We`love you bro don't let us down.

Hey Kids,
I had someone ask me what kind of Church we were and what our doctrine was.

I told them I would get back with them on it.

I had to ponder on the question. I was hard pressed to say we followed the I-Ching as that is of Chinese origin and in this day and age we could be classified as potential threats

Since we really aren't affiliated with any specific religion. I find it hard to define to the layperson, someone not familiar with the Hippie Way.

What description should I use to define our Church?

Suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have that info or could they get it from Steven by phone.. Does Mouseman have any idea what the Church papers said. The By-Laws, if you will.

 

Our wonderful tech world! First yesterday when we were expecting a call from AC the cute littlle phone we got at Walmart told us that our 'unlimited minutes' were gone! We had 8 days, no mins! So we email phone co, 'we can deal with this, call us sent more money.' So Rita took the 40 mile round trip to walmart,came home and put the card on the cell,still no minutes so we got ahold of Kenny on the net and he called the company, read them the riot act and we got our minutes... Thanks again Brother! AC,please try calling me again.

 

I miss AC. I want to go hang with him in person and shoot the shit.

I believe that Steven would tell you that the concept of our church is that it includes every person in the whole wide world. This is why it is named "The Church of the Good Earth". Kind of like a a church of and for Good that does include everybody in the whole wide world. The Church is the Whole Wide World.

Please note that I am not one of our ordained ministers. I'm just an Episcopalian alter boy. Talk about yer under cover. :rofl:

I think that to be a real church of "The Good Earth" (the Whole Wide World), you would need to be ALL Things to ALL People. So then, based on this idea, our "church" would, out of necessity, need to include ALL beliefs and ALL philosophies. And then at the very same time it would need to include ALL people who don't have ether beliefs or philosophies.

In other words, Everybody.

Therefore, our church would be about the People. (Of the World.) They can be atheists or have any thoughts or beliefs. Each person has their own mind and there own experience in their own life. Their own frame of reference.

To explain the Church of the Good Earth, myself, I kind of think of my understanding of the Bahá'í Faith, just to start with. As I understand that Bahá'í Faith, it is about people, and you can believe in any or many religious ideas of any god. However, this is also monotheistic. (One God). For those who have never heard of the Bahá'í Faith, here you go, quick and easy:

So, then what about all of the other people who believe something else. Like, no god, or many gods, or earth spirits, or any other idea?

Well that seems to be where the Church of the Good Earth steps in. We feel that we include everyone and that everyone many believe in anything that believe in or they can believe in nothing. They choose.

Some like myself have very strong believes. I don't have beliefs. I know. I've talked with God. I know that we are all loved.

Others can believe that that is absurd, and that's okay too. All people are valid.

That brings me to another point, that I feel that I should bring up.

This idea is for everyone and for Zev to consider, as well.
By it's very definition, it is impossible to kick someone out of the Good Earth. Literally impossible. LOL

That's technical. What you might call a technical reality. You could put someone in orbit off of the Earth yet they would still be a part of the Good Earth. Someone could travel to Mars and stay there, and they would still be a part of humanity. You do see my point.


Added the converse concept:
On the other hand, there is the family of man, and then their is the family that you (each of us) personally choose. (To hang out with.)

You don't just open your front door on Henry Street or on Haight Street and have everyone wander into your living room and bed room and just stay there and do whatever.

Just some philosophical foot notes. Just some technical thoughts.

You are so accurate with this. Although in the most common usage it would mean non-clergy, or non-priesthood. The other or the rest of us, the laity, the laypersons.

You hit the nail on the head, with the term layperson, to me in both the first definition and more specifically within the second definition.
