I'm new here so please don't yell at me if I've put this in the wrong place. I'm wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions on summer festivals?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to Bonnaroo, nothing drastic has happened to me so I'm still going.

Sunshine Daydream "Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash" is small, intimate, and priavte. It's in West Virginia, absolutely beautiful. I had a GREAT time.

I've also heard of Smile Fest, and from what people are saying on here it might not be going on this summer.

    suggest away!

    Welcome, featherbean.
listen to half of what you read on here. were a bunch of jaded, picky heads.with definite opinions. that's what makes this fun.
how far do you want to travel, what sort of budget and time frames?
there MIGHT be Telluride tix left for this spring, and Rocky Grass goes on sale in March or so.
Wakarusa in Kansas gets great reviews, and the Schwag has a great family hoedown in Missouri. Florida has a handful. I'd bet Ky and Ohio would have some lively grass shows.
search Jambase.com or any of the other ideas in the sticky on the front festival page.

    Thanks sister,

I'm not super new to the scene, but I'm definetly no where near jaded. are you kidding me, I love talking to older heads. That's where you get the real knowledge...I'm lucky to have a boyfriend who's experienced in the scene. I love meeting other heads...makes believe there's some hope for this world yet. lol

Well, I'm from kentucky....So I'll probably stay towards the east, notheast, and southeast.....

I just wanted to get the shows that are so wonderful that people go to them annually, ya know?

Oh man, I just checked out the Wakarusa lineup, and it is killer. Keller Williams, Leftover Salmon, The Motet, Barefoot Manner... *does excited dance* I'll definitely be hitting that one up, if I can stand the 13-hour drive, hehe! (Thanx, drumminmama!)

I went to Smilefest 04, and it was a great lineup, but there were definite bad vibes because of problems with the ALE. I think it's moving to West Virginia, not getting cancelled.

I'm already getting started on planning the summer festival lineup, too... summer's only six months away, haha!

    *love*
