Despite lee's banning, this is a good question.
I pay anywhere from $8 to $15 per pair, online.
The higher prices are thicker trousers.
I have a pile for massage clients, as I do Thai and Shiatsu massage, requiring loose clothing for clients.

I should add, they are thin cotton, therefore dryers are not their friends.
A buddy did my massage laundry as trade and got two pair in a dryer by mistake.

However, even with replacement cost, and I'm keeping them as 3/4 length, I got the better deal, monetarily.

I got some last year because I thought they looked comfy and cute. They make me look bulky and awkward. I have a thicker long pair and a thinner short pair. Both have the same issue and I am not that big.

I think in the age of skinny jeans, these will look bulky, when they are simply wide.

For the bulk at the belly, I tried a two-fold before the tie and it helped. Wearing them at hips helped, too.

When I wear them as real clothes, I wear something longer and fitted on top.

Yes I also agree with drumminmama that now a days we wear skinny jeans and if we will wear those pants it will look bulky.

Also, where do you place the waist? At your natural waist or closer to hips?

    Mine aware lower.
And I wear slimmer lines in shirts with it...because the belly bulk is all the trousers, honest. :D
