warhammer is a bit childish but the stories are fucking gr8! the horus heresy cmon ppl. bloody grand grand. if anybody is into warhammer books what books are they? iv read alot of 40k books, some fantasy and 2 necromunda books. i have horus heresy the rising and the first gaunts ghost trilogy coming soon in the post cant wait! = ) dreadhead~~
I LOVE WH40k books, especially by Dan Abnett. Amazing. I started reading The Ravenor Omnibus first, the black and silver cover called to me. Ravenor made me cry. I then worked back to The Eisenhorn Omnibus. A M A Z I N G. I am currently waiting to start book four of the Horus Heresy. I cry just about every book, and especially the last one. Long live Garviel Loken!! Edit: Apologies, just saw I revived a 4 year old thread. But at least I searched for a WH40k thread BEFORE starting a new one...right?
I read w40k books. It's satisfying pulp and I probably like it too much. @playitsafe: Didn't realize i was bumping an ancient thread either. Just finished "Know No Fear". That Dan Abnett can nail a 40k story. Eisenhorn is my favorite.
Eisenhorn is amazing, though I tend to fall in love with characters too much for them to go bad, like I did with Eisenhorn. So, I loved Ravenor a bit more, just cause he was hero all the way, and though 'radical' never turned to the warp for help.
I used to be a die hard warhammer fanatic... started back in the mid 80's when it was citadel miniatures. the original Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader, Realms of Darkness and such. I gave it up about 10 years ago. Still have all those books somewhere.
I used to play warhammer. Now i just prefer the stories. Reading Horus Rising now, is really good. Also read the Ultramarines omnibus and the Eisenhorn one too.
