I think we are agreed that having too small a landing pool is crazy, not having a slope is boring, but too steep a slope might be a little scary for some. I personally think that being nude and soapy or covered with oil would help speed you along your way and would be a bit daring and fun, as long as the slide wasn't too hot from the sun and the sliding surface had no rough spots to hurt. Natural water slides in rivers can be a bit rough and not always private, so cut-off jeans may be sensible protection for the butt if the river rocks demand it.
