I just spent 3 hours with my father in law...it was stressful. I love the guy and I know he means well, but he is getting old and it worries me. I had to go somewhere with him today and he talked my ear off!!! Talking about the government, the economy and how my old lady and I need to start saving more money....ahhhhhhh!!!!!! I just smile, nod my head and say mm hmm. And while he is talking my head off I'm counting the reflectors that he is running over because he is a lefty and ALWAYS drive right in the middle of the two lanes. I'm always like "Papi (they are Cuban we don't call them mother and father) choose a lane!!" Now it's time to take my meds:sifone:
when he gives financial advice just make a comment that you don't have to worry because you'll survive on the inheritance old people love hearing that
I never let anyone drive me anywhere lol Other peoples driving (except my moms) stresses me out so badly
In-laws. lol I deal with mine every day. They're also Cuban, so I feel your pain, MayQueen! If you only saw how the car is parked in the lot right now, you'd laugh.
Rule #35: NEVER LET AN OLD PERSON GET IN A CAR WITH YOU. Ever. I'm serious. They know that they have you trapped.
Ack! My mother, rest her soul, used to drive me insane (pun intended). She was one that would accelerate and let off - accelerate and let off...to infinity and back.
Trust me I would have rather drove us, but we were in his car and he's really hard headed about driving.
I am so thankful that my in-laws live 500 miles away My grandmother (paternal) speeds up to go over speed bumps. She's a maniac behind the wheel. My other grandmother (maternal) is absolutely insane. She sounds a lot like your father-in-law...talking non-stop, except she doesn't drive. Your father-in-law is a combination between my two grandmothers. Oh dear, I pity your soul!
Lol, it's so stressful that I can't even look when he drives. I usually try to just look down at my phone or something.
