best way to move to BC from US (legally)

    Hey, need info on best way to go about becoming a permanent BC resident, w/o a job offer and w/o marrying a resident (already married).

    Also, anybody familiar with Nelson, BC?

    Finally, input on moving to Victoria would be appreciated :)

    To become a permanent resident of Canada, you will need to find work here. You first have to become a temporary resident, then work here for at least two years. See the official stuff for details.

    You won't be able to get in if you are unemployed, unless you are independently wealthy. Permanent residents are eligible for various forms of social assistance, but you have to pay into the system first.

    Nelson is a groovy place. Victoria is more of a conventional city, but still kinda cool in its own way.

    As much as one may think, Victoria is not much of a place for hippies... it's too big city, like Vancouver.
